What Pens Are You Using Today?

I've got a couple of my "nice" pens inked up - grey Sheaffer Imperial VI with Waterman Havana Brown, and red Parker Sonnet w/18k nib, Waterman Red.

The Sheaffer writes with a firm, fine line, perfect for note taking. The Sonnet has been a pen that's been difficult for me to love; the medium nib was too thick for general writing using blue or black inks. But it is perfect with this Waterman Red, which is bright, thin and transparent, almost like a highlighter ink. I'm diggin' it!

The moment we want to believe something, we suddenly see all the arguments for it, and become blind to the arguments against it.

I'm currently carrying:

- Waterman "Exclusive", black w/fine point nib,

- Sheaffer "Prelude", gold barleycorn finish w/fine point nib,

- Parker "Sonnet", green and brown swirl pattern w/fine point nib,

- Waterford sterling silver (don't remember the model name) wmedium point nib,

- Pelikan "200 Souveran" in blue pinstripe w/XF nib,

- Pilot "Varsity" disposable fountain pen. These are surprisingly good pens,

- Waterman "Exclusive" ballpoint (for those times when one can't avoid having to use such a barbaric piece of equipment)

Later,

In my pocket is a blue Parket Sonnet, F, with Swisher's Burgundy (looks like VT Hokie Maroon, if you squint).

Along, and waiting, are two Lamy Vistas, F and Italic, along with a Libelle Carbon Fiber with, I believe, a Medium nib.

Inks: Swisher Burgundy and Cocoa, a dark green Noodler's, and Private Reserve Tanzanite.

Wish: a notepad with really nice paper. Oh, and more pens.

Only one at the moment--an Aurora 88 w/gold-filled cap and wonderful stub nib. It's using Private Reserve Blue Suede juice.

I'm at home today catching up on letter-writing, so I'm able to sit at my desk and use a dip pen. The one I'm using right now is an ebay find. It is marked "GISCO" and has a fine nib.

A Parker 51 from 1945 fine point; a sheaffer prelude, a Parker 21 from 1948, and an Esterbrook Gray Ice. All have black Waterman or Visconti ink.

Sheaffer ruled the roost today, but instead of my Legacys it was a Snorkel and TM* day:

1. Sheaffer Snorkel Autograph, fine nib, Private Reserve Lake Placid Blue (it writes so very smoothly!);

2. Sheaffer Snorkel Valiant, pastel green, medium nib, Private Reserve Spearmint;

3. Sheaffer TM* Statesman, black, fine nib, Noodler's Zhivago.

Plus, I had two Parker "51"s as backup: a 1945 Vacumatic in cedar blue with Sheaffer's Skrip Green and my father's 1958 Special Demi in burgundy with Noodler's Saguaro Wine.

Waterman's Edson Diamond Black fine nib with Waterman's blue cart for signing stuf.

Waterman's #7 with "pink" flexy nib for doodling and sketching.

Life is good at the end of the working week.

Today I'm using a nameless pen I received as a gift... It was picked up by a friend at a local flea market, where it was labeled as "old-fashioned pen." It's probably just a modern copy of a better known pen, but it writes very smoothly and I love it. :)
