It was crazy getting out of the house this morning and of all things, I forget to put a pen in my pocket. I about panicked when I got to work. I checked my briefcase and still had a Rotring Freeway cliped in there that I haven't used in a month. I figured it was empty or dried up and hoped I had an extra cartridge somewhere. Well, I opened it up and it fired right off and wrote all day!! Mighty fine backup pen!

My bank asked me to stop using bulletproof black on my checks, so I did.

Why did they request that?

oh yah...I'm with Lloyd. Whyever did they request that?

Call me curious :hmm1:

They said that Noodler's bulletproof Black in a pen with a broad or stub nib (which I was using on my checks) puts down a line that looks too much like the stamp ink used by corporations and by banks for signatures and cancellations. Although this seemed irrational to me, I decided to comply and am now using Legal Lapis. I was tempted to use a loud, raucous color, but decided I really don't want any more hassle. They are content with my choice of a blue in, so I'll just go with that.

Wrote a couple notes with a Rotring 600 medium, using Parker blue-blank ink. Then switched to a Franklin-Christoph M14 fine nib pen using Waterman Florida blue cartridge. -RacerX

Well, I recieved a few pens in the mail this weekend and a few from repair and also I work on a few:

Stipula Saturno Olive Woodgrain color W/1.1 Stub Nib

Aurora Optima Burgandy Red W/Broad nib (I worked on this nib for a few hours on Saturday) It was once a toothy nib now it is a smooth Juicy Broad nib!!! Patience and persistance Pays off!!

Lamy 2000 W/Broad Nib Thanks Kurt!! This is a fantastic Pen with a wonderfully smooth nib. Why did I wait so long to buy a Lamy 2000?

Visconti Copernicus Black&Blue celluloid striped W/Medium nib

Stipula Etruria Ocean Blue W/1.3 Stub Nib

TNS

Savage, I had a Stipula Saturno with that exact nib and I loved the way it wrote. I wasn't exactly happen with the olive color; I had expected something a little more "vibrant" One of my students LOVED that pen since I let him write with it one day. I gave it to him while he was standing in line to go on stage for his graduation. It was indeed a most magical moment. He's at West Point now and uses the pen daily.

Of course, now, I wish I had another one......maybe not the green one!

Vintage Aurora 88K with Chrome Lined Cap and flexy medium nib with Waterman's Blue Black

Black PFM MkII with fine nib and Noodle's Blue/Black

Both the above for editing documents and signing mail.

Vintage "Flecta" with a firm fine nib - a shameless replica of the Nizzoli Aurora 88 but one that I am quite happy to use with potentially damaging inks. Filled with Penman "Ruby" and being used to highlight passages in a research paper.
