White or Ivory Colored Pens

Recommended Posts

My next purchase may be a white or ivory colored pen. I say next because I also really want a Bexley Poseidon too!

The only white/ivory pens I know of are a Sailor and , I think, a Waterman. What other brands are out there?

That's easy --> CHARLESTON. One of my very favourite pens, I use it everday at least for 4 h. Actually relatively affordable and extreme quality-to-price ratio ('fyask me).

I have a beautiful pearlescent white Lamy Studio and my Bexley BX802 is pearlescent cream with 'butterscotch' swirls.

White/cream/ivory pens are really chic IMHO.

Pilot Decimo, Pilot I-can't-think-of-the-name pen that came out a few months ago in red, white or blue, Conway $tewart, Cartier Trinity . . . okay, I can't think of any more. Have fun searching!

For a new pen, you can't go wrong with the Waterman Charleston. My wife loves hers. If you want something different, try an Omas 360 Mezzo.

If you want to look at vintage pens, try Waterman and Esterbrook doctor/nurse pens. Also, the Omas Biblioteque is a beautiful pen, although not easy to find.

Here's a second - or is it a third by now :hmm1: - for the Lamy Studio, Decimo, and the Charleston. I liked the Studio so much, I bought 2 - a fine and XF!! The fine is super smooth and a lovely wet writer, so I got the XF hoping for a thinner line and lesser flow when I needed it for editing. Don't love the line of the XF as much as I love the look of the pen, so it might be going for a regrind to a truer XF. Either way, I still recomend the Studio if you don't need a really fine nib! :D

My Decimo is Japan Pink and my Charlestons are green and yellow, so I haven't seen either in the white/ivory finish, but I can vouch for the quality of these pens. All three were great right out of the box and the Charlestons are two of my most reliable pens. They write as they should every time - no start/flow issues, no skipping, nice weight/balance - perfect behavior in a reasonably priced pen. Hmm... reminds me that I should get those two back into rotation!

I also agree with Leonie in that the Bexley BX802/701 cream/butterscotch swirl is a lovely, warm color, but in my experience at least, the 701 is a surprisingly large pen. Admittedly, I'm not the biggest guy around (only 5'6" with fairly small hands) but it feels like I'm wielding quite the writing instrument when I bring the Bexley out! Doesn't mean I don't use it though :P

Oh bother, so many pens and so little time!!

All the best,

Mike

Flow good, ooze bad!

A couple of Montblancs to consider - MB's Pope Julius Patron of the Arts pen is a gorgeous, ivory pen; the Fitzgerald Writer's Edition is an Art Deco white and black.

I would also give a third vote to the Charleston if you are looking for a more affordable, day-to-day pen.

Regards,

Vintner

Delta 365 in white pearl:

I saw it at a B&M store in Chicago and drooled on it through the glass display case (not literally, thank goodness). Unfortunately I was unemployed at the time and had to leave the store with only the Lamy Al-Star I had come for :P

OMG Be still my heart - does this write as beautifully as it looks?

I also rather like the kitten in the slipper - maybe more than the pen too !

I did not try it out for myself, as I had no intention of buying it at the time. However, this review (linked on the FPN review database) for the 365 line seems very positive.

I just bought this magnificent Parker Duofold Pearl and Black at the NY Pen Show 2 weeks ago - I wanted one for a long time and it is one of the most beautiful pens I own (and I own almost 100!) It may just be my favorite - what an incredible writer!
