Removing company logos from pens?

My dad gave me a Cross ballpoint which he wasn't using, but there's a small metal plate with a CREDIT SUISSE logo on the clip. It's pretty small, but I'd like to remove it. Any tips?

Could you post some close up photographs of it? The logo plate could be soldered on or held on with adhesive or it could be welded on. It might even be part of the same stamped out metal. How to get rid of it will depend on the details.

Could you not try and remove it with a blade? Photos would help as most I have seen are held on my adhesive or a small amount of solder.

Looking at the pictures, I would be willing to bet an epoxy adhesive was used.

If it is an epoxy resin (and examining the joint with a decent loupe or magnifying glass will confirm that) then soaking in hot water should soften the epoxy. It it has been soldered on, then hot water won't do anything.

Well, depending on how much you like it, you can send it to Cross for a clip replacement (I don't know if its economical though...)

I think that they are held on with two little brads through the clip- at least they use to be??? Might be best to look into checking with Cross about a clip exchange.

I have a similar pen with the promotional thing soldered onto the clip. If it's epoxy, you can try soaking and heating. But for soldered or riveted clips, I wouldn't recommend removing it since the process could damage the clip anyway. I think it actually looks okay.

I have an older cross pen that had one of those type logos. I did remove it, and as others said, I have have two small holes on that clip from where it attached. I did solve the problem by buying a similar pen with a clean cap/clip.

 

The pen was important to me because it had been my grandfather's. Even though it does not have the original cap, I'm happier without the logo!

Upon further inspection, apparently, it's screwed on. I'm going to try calling the Cross distributor and ask how much a new clip costs.
