How can I get the login and password of the scans? I would love to see them.

Me, too.

What happens to Journals Once They Fill Up?

The journals are scanned up, and right now they are stored in one of my desk drawers.

You can view the content on the scans.

Otherwise, I do not know what to do with them. Any suggestions?

What about other people issuing their own journals?

Yes, anyone should be able to issue more journals if they want to. The more the merrier. So far I have been mantaining roughly 10 journals in operation at a time, but if we need more, then more people should issue them :) The idea behind the journal is that it is fun, non-centralized, and it is a closed loop so that people develop closer frienships among the participants and have responsibility of moving the journal along. So far journal loss have been minimal.

If other people issue journals and want me to scan them and post them online after they fill up, I am willing to do so.

Where are the scans?

Journal Scans

username and password is simple, but required -- so that strange people do not go reading what we write. No address is ever scanned into the journal pages.

How do I join the project?

Either you issue your own journal, or you join a journal from someone issuing them. At this point I am still collecting names and addresses (via Private Message) for future journals.

You must pardon this question but what happens to the journals once they are filled? Do they go into a secret place or does the alligator get them?

I don't know the answer but I didn't want the question to go completely unanswered. I assumed the journals that Jose started will end up in Jose's care and those that started others would do the same.

I took a gander at the scans. Very cool! I hope to be able to participate soon. I was very relieved to see penmanship on par with my own. Good thing a FP makes chicken scratch like mine at least a little classy :)

After much anticipation and dalliance, I will try to put together two or three Moleskine-Cahier-sized homemade travelling journals. Nothing fancy, but I had experimented with the design and paper selections a little while ago, and even tried issuing them to local friends to enact this sort of project (but it seems to be failing. I thought *I* was slow writing in ANES013!) I'll send out a formal announcement when I'm ready to mail some off (disclaimer, in case I dally more), and I know Andy and Marina and Jose wanted to be on one of the homemade journals, so that leaves a few more participants if you'd like. If there are paper preferences, tell me now. It won't be the most perfect paper, but I found some things that at least LOOK nice, and write decently with FPs. It's not easy to obtain a paper excellent for FPs from the SCRAP warehouse (where I get most of my art supplies; recycled stuff, super cheap! every city should have one of these! We've got two! well, one in Oakland, one in SF).

Anyhow, I love love love this project so much and would like to reach out and meet more people.

Cheers!

TWO HANDMADE JOURNALS MADE!

I have a few people that expressed interest recently, or in the past. If all those people accept (I will PM you), I have spots for two more (going with Jose's four-plus-one model). I will make a few more journals next weekend, so don't be shy. PM me if interested.

This is really fun and really exciting.

I think I might dedicate a journal in particular to non-US international travel, since JimG in Australia expressed interest. It would be nice to have some other non-US people to go on that journal, or is that being too selective?

PS > they are the same size as the Moleskine Cahiers that we have been using. I think they are 64 pages, though. And I have to check to make sure the postage will be the same.

SoniaJournal has returned safely to this side of the pond!

I have acquired my first fountain pen, a Haolilai 801F, and it is full of Tahitian Pearl and rearing to go!

Thanks Ruaidhrí for sending it my way.

May I just say, WOO HOO!

Isn't sanity really a one-trick pony, anyway? I mean, all you get is one trick, rational thinking! But when you're good and crazy . . . ooh hoo hoo hoo! . . . the sky's the limit!

I need two people to join one of the two travelling journals I have hand-bound so that I can send them out! Don't be shy, PM me your address! (Sorry for the delay, I've been busy busy doing research!) In fact, the more the merrier, because I'm working on a few more journals and really enjoy this.

<Edit: MM02 was sent out to Hana this morning. (then it will go to Andy then Frels then Velma). MM01 will go out quite soon.>
