I have used (other brands) of fountain pens for a few years. I really liked the feel of fountain pens, and how light of a touch was needed to leave a line. Sheaffer pens only recently caught my interest as I branched into vintage pens. Since then, I have picked up some of the lever fill Balance pens, some Triumph pens, a Tuckaway in clipless, and one in the demi-clip, as well as 3 desk pens. I must admit the Vac-fillers I picked up because they had a reputation for being difficult to rebuild (I am a sucker for a challenge). I have yet to snag a red striated, but I am rather drawn to that color and pattern. I have had no luck tripping over any which had nibs which could be described as significantly flexy. All the ones I have are pretty much stiff nibs, with one of them having maybe .75 mm of flex (a classic non-triumph Feather nib). So far, I have found a lot of knowledge in this group. It has really helped me. Thanks to you all!

Hi all I too collect Sheaffer pens among other fountain pens. I have one that is a real quandary to me. It's a Sheaffer 875 Vac-Fill, but the part that is unusual it has windows on both sides running the length of the pen. Trying to get some information about it. Is a demonstrator of sorts or what is with the windows. I haven't seen another one like it for sale anywhere or on any website.

Just placed an order with Peyton Street for:

  • Targa 1001 (M), brushed stainless steel + steel nib
  • Statesman Snorkel set - Med Triumph Steel Nib + Mechanical Pencil (Green)

I am excited. Will be my first Targa and my first Snorkel. :D
