Let me guess. Moo is black and white ;)

Nope. Moo is orange and white, and half siamese (what a personality, let me tell you...) he got his name from his shape. For a while, as a kitten he had a swollen belly and very narrow hips. If you've ever seen a dairy cow walking you'll get the image. Needless to say, it was originally moo cow butt we started calling him in jest, and he started answering to moo... it just kind of stuck. But yeah, that's HIS mouse... touch it and find out why...lol

Behold...Cubicle 2.0, in all its messiness. I've been meaning to straighten this up...honestly, I have.

I've written to many of you from this desk...those of you playing along at home will note the cigar boxes of correspondence cards and envelopes...a writer's tools!

Do I win "Messiest Desk"?  This is how it looked on July 5.  It does look a little better today, but I still have a ways to go.

I'm sorry, but this is just so WRONG! Large desktop, clear, clean, no signs of impromptu overcapacity storage intrusion. Really sicko. I advise immediate professional intervention. A clean desk is the sign of a cluttered mind. :roflmho:

At the moment, I have two desks (One I use for computing and FPN, the other is for writing/fountain pens :D)

The writing desk has one of those sliding keyboard slots - which I find very useful to store fountain pens on, and slide out whenenver I need to use another one

Unfortunately, I'll be studying at a completely different desk soon. My university is far from home, and I'll be boarding at a dormitory there

Sorry - terrible picture:

(Sorry I missed this before.)

Yes, Yes, YES!!! Now THIS is a DESK!!! The owner is obviously productive, happy, and well socialized. No sign of anal retention here! I love the use of the "visual cue" filing system. At first I thought someone had stolen a shot of my own desktop. There is nothing I would change here. Well, save maybe the dead, half-smoked joint just northwest of the black glasses (?) case. Not that it doesn't fit in, but I'm not sure I'd want to advertise. :roflmho: :roflmho: :roflmho:

Those are some pretty good sized pistons!

No, I'm just happy to see you! :o

Kidding! They're from a diesel. I picked up a couple more the other day....some doofus driving them around the plant somehow made a couple of skids overturn, so pistons went rolling everywhere. Not sure how many it was, but at $15 or so a pop, it's an expensive mistake!

Well I am a complete neat freak, but usually there's a book/paper/whatever I'm working on sitting on the desk, but I cleared all that off for the picture. I do find that I can concentrate a lot better with fewer things on my desk.

Oh you have no idea! Some has changed on the rear desk (video/audio editing machine) so here is a new shot, and one to my left and one to my right:

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y126/flea77/pentrace/behind.gif

Here is the new and improved video/audio editing station, new LCD monitors to replace the two CRTs, 500GB external SATA data drive, new keyboard and laser mouse, and Kenwood minidisc recorder.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y126/flea77/pentrace/left.gif

To the left we have the phone, router, DSL modem and HP ADF scanner, along with bunches of discs etc.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y126/flea77/pentrace/right.gif

To the right we have the HP fax/copier/laser printer, the HP color laser, wireless access point, CDs and to the far left of this picture, yes that is vinyl!

So yes, I am very busy in my little home office!

Desk after a triumphant moment: the UPS guy's ball pens failed to write in 8 degree (F) weather and this trusty 1940s triumph did the job with Polar Blue. Four ball pens in a row defeated! Besides...every other part of every other desk had paperwork and just did not look nice enough to show.

Simple desk with an ironic lamp: double circular wick kerosene lamp made in New Bedford, Massachusetts in the early 1870s. The Whaling City of Herman Melville's Moby Dick was manufacturing lamps that were part of the inevitable demise of whaling in the face of far more affordable petroleum. Can you tell the owner likes eyedropper filled pens? Sometimes...those bottles fill the glass well now and then. Blue Ghost, Red Oak Garnet, Singapore Sepia, and Polar Blue...but the inks change frequently. Polar Blue is the favorite at the moment due to this brutal weather.

"The pen is mightier than the sword."

The pen could be mightier than the thief and the gun if it is filled with a bulletproof ink too!

May be available again soon, I hope...but not at the moment:

 Wow, you guys have some really tidy desks. This is almost embarrassing and I hesitate, but the photo has been taken. Sigh, I use to have such a clean and tidy roll top desk.

The gun sets off the other accessories so nicely!

  • 2 weeks later...

I have a disclaimer. This is not my regular desk in Makati City. This is a temporary desk I set up in my mother's house in the Bicol Region, since I have been here since the 19th and will be here until the middle of March.

The mess is because those are two plastic tables put together, so there are no drawers for all the cables and the little items messing up the tabletop. And everything that is on top of the desk are things that I brought with me from Makati, which is an eight-hour drive away.

I brought enough work with me to do for two weeks. smile.gif

I edited this post to make the photo a little smaller.

I really like seeing everyone's desk. So here's mine. It extends to walls and sort of ceilings too! Stuff on every available surface - nearly anyway! Spot the FPS!

Have you every bumped your head with the ceiling? tongue.gif
