thanks for updating my post I am a village idiot when it comes to picture uploads

'The Yo-Yo maneuver is very difficult to explain. It was first perfected by the well-known Chinese fighter pilot Yo-Yo Noritake. He also found it difficult to explain, being quite devoid of English.

So we left it at that. He showed us the maneuver after a sort. B*****d stole my kill.'

for some reason I thought I had already posted a pic of my desk here...

I have two desks but looking in my photo bucket library I only see the picture

of this one. It's made from an old oak drawer.

It has since become so cluttered there's no room to write on it so I do a lot of my

writing at the dining room table. Do you think I have "clutter issues?"

amberlea,

Are the scales for payments?

:) They were on my father's desk for many years. He was a judge, but not an attorney. He gave them to me when he left office in the hopes I would go to law school.

Methinks they be the scales of justice.

Do you have a letter-opener shaped like a sword?

Nope, she's a mermaid.

Thanks Dr_P and Pen2paper!

It is walnut, good guess! I love the 60s and design from that time. It wasn't stuck in the past, nor the present , It promised a freshness that showed us what the future could be.

What are your favorite era? And do you have any piece of furniture from that period?

This is my home-office desk:

I'm jealous. I mean, I'm happy for you, but I would like to have such a desk. Not yours. One of my own. I guess I'm not so much jealous as covetous.

I recently acquired this beauty. It's smaller than I'd like, but otherwise it's perfect for me.

Kipp Stewart Declaration. Small buffet, round dining, four chairs. Always planned to change out the ceramic knobs, but there was something visually correct about them that stopped me. glad I avoided thE major mistake!

Personally like the square to round design device of mcm. Also, the low sheen patina on the medium walnut improves each year.

Wish ++ > I had the Declaration desk. Have as basic as it gets, teak.. far too boring to show here.

...do you have any piece of furniture from that period?
