That's a nice piece! You'll be enjoying it long after you've forgotten the price, I'll bet.

I have a sticky desk too:

Are those ink or graphite streaks on your desk, beak? All those items on your desk make me curious as to what awesome things you're creating

I'm really jealous of the workspaces some of you have! At least you've all given me great inspiration when I have the funds and the living space for an actual study. My current place is tiny, and so, despite my age, I wound up having bought a kid's loft bed with a desk underneath so I can make better use of my room's vertical space.

Nice desk Salazar. A question, where is the space for your legs?. Greetings.

I do like it, although I wished they had a model with a queen or even a full-size, and not just a twin. I would have enjoyed the extra width of the desk with that larger size, as well as more comfortable sleeping area up top. But, having lived in Japan, I can make do with a twin-sized bed. I like my desk more now that I've stopped banging my head on the "ceiling" every week. The real issue is when I've come home knackered from work and I can't be bothered climbing up the ladder, so I just wind up passing out on my carpet, haha.

Salazar, it all depends on the matress, personally I dislike spring matresses , I sleep well only in hard cushion.

Haha, there is some space under the desk for them, but sometimes I just sit with my knees curled up or kneeling on the chair. I have a twin sized memory foam mattress so it is comfy. I just want some stretching room because I'm somewhat like a cat when I'm waking up. I also need to figure out a better way to store my inks since I don't know how safe it is for them to be right under my lamplight. They're in their boxes though, if that helps any.

Photos of a very in-expensive desk that I put together in less than an hour. Perfectly suited for a small area. I use this one in a vacation condo.

NOTE - I use a"Piano Lamp" on it, - I've had that lamp for many years, but never knew it had an official name, until reading it here.

Fine, I dont have more than the basics, Green , red, blue, black, and make mixes at will, perhaps I need a yellow to make oranges but maybe in the future. Greetings.

The boxes will definitely help. I don't think your inks are close enough to lamps for heat to be an issue, and the boxes should protect your inks from light.

I had a really unexpected surprise when I had my taxes done this year and immediately thought of going on a pen spree :roflmho: Instead, my partner convinced me that I needed a new desk: "wouldn't you want to use those nice pens on a nice desk, something inspiring?" Around the beginning of the year we stumbled upon a small antique / vintage store and somehow the first thing that my eyes led me to was a beautiful old desk, somewhat small, but adequate for my needs. I looked at the tags: Signed Stickley, Early ca. 1903-1904, 'Postcard Desk,' along with the PRICE TAG!! :yikes:

Happily I was seriously blessed with my tax refund and took the advice. I decided to get the desk. I was using a small student-style desk that had been mine in high school. It had certainly run its course. The new desk however is an inspiring and beautiful piece of work and I am happy every time I spread my hands across its century-old surface and stop to pick up another favorite pen. I am so thankful.

Here's the beauty: (for size comparison the pens are a MB 149, YOL Viceroy Grand, Pelikan m101N tortoise and Kaweco Classic Sport).

I love the white porcelain Pelikan pen stand! I have a smaller one in blue to match my blue M605. They're cool little things.

I saw this desk in a local antique shop on Thursday, and talked myself into buying it on Saturday. It was tagged as an early c19th clerk's desk. It's not in immaculate condition, but it has character. One day I might get it restored nicely, but for now I will appreciate its quirks that show it was a much used piece of furniture.

I don't just have one desk set up as a distaster area .... I have three desks and table. Sometimes, you have to use your desk as a ladder to conduct fade experiments.

I don't actually know what I'm doing here, so I'm hoping for the best.

I have only recently discovered the Fountain Pen Network. It's been so helpful! I've just rediscovered the joy of writing with a fountain pen, and as I've been exploring what pens to buy, this site has been invaluable. I also have loved seeing so many of your desks. I love those beautiful vintage desks. Not that I have one, but I decided to join in anyway (hoping that's okay). So, here's my desk.

And while my desk is where I do a great deal of my work, I also work with a lap desk in the office as well.

And, yes, that's my fountain pen collection (ahem). (I'm not sure but I think it's a Sheaffer Prelude -- I got it many moons ago and it's the lone pen that survived an earlier declutter purge). My ink collection is in the box in the background. That would be some cartridges.

Never fear. You guys are inspiring (corrupting?) me. As soon as Goulet Pens gets in the Twsbi Diamond 580's, one of them will be headed my way. Along with some Noodler's ink. After that, I'm not sure. A Lamy 2000? A Pelikan M200? So many possibilities.

Thanks to all for being information central. (Oh, edited to erase the poster that was in the desk window. It's writing inspirational but it also includes some profanity. It was only after I posted that I realized someone could click and enlarge the image and, why yes, you could sort of, kind of make that out. Oops.)

I'm not sure if Goulet has gotten any more 580's in yet, but Twsbi's ebay store and website has be re-stocked.

I just ordered my first Twsbi with a 1.1 nib last night.

I figure that since I am so lacking in materials, I can order everything at once, pen and ink. Still, good news. If they are in at Twsbi, perhaps that means they'll be at Goulet Pens soon.

I work part time at a family owned Italian super market in the grocery department. Usually I'm in the freezer or dairy cool. This is my desk at work. It isn't actually "my desk" but it is our department's desk, where we keep our weekly schedule, sale signs, paper work, etc.

This would be my "portable desk" aka the trolley I use to take product from the back to the shelf.

Love the stand up metal desk. Reminds me of something I was taught as a child when being encouraged to stand up to work; 'There's a switch on your bum that turns your brain off.'

Sincerely, beak.
