This is the writing half of my desk. I have a computer-half of my desk as well, but that isn't really picture-worthy.

This is what the writing portion of my desk looks like right now as I'm about to begin studying for a presentation I'm giving with a fellow student at the university next week.

This also marks the first serious use my new Pelikan M600 White Tortoise will see. :)

@Mill-Burray, there is some seriously expensive technology on that one desk. Not to mention the three guitars and what? one bass?

Sorry, the pictures were all snapped with my cell at the shop when I first got it and then at home recently. They do not do my desk any justice at all.

Here's my writing desk. I've not bothered to clean up, so excuse the paper piles, dust, and so on. I've included a close-up of my daily writer, a Pelikan M215.

Good to see a desk that looks like a real working desk.

Mess is life. Life is mess. My wife is not yet convinced of this deep truth.

I've been enjoying this thread so here is a few of my desk.

Just a boring Ikea desk but gives me plenty of space to spread out and clutter up!

Just stepped back and took a picture.

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o565/mboschm/DSC_0233-3.jpg

Two "compulsory bibliography" dossiers, computer, a lamy logo on the table, pocket knife (I had trimmed a reed quill earlier in the afternoon), some loose papers and notebooks, a stand-up desk, a trumpet mouthpiece, a mute, a herbin Cacao bottle, some pens on the tub on the central shelf... Messy? Me? Nah...

There are some real neat-freaks on this thread! I wonder if this topic is self-selecting for the neat folks. Or are fountain pen geeks just naturally tidy? Interesting question. Speaking only for myself, I am fairly neat (you can scroll up somewhere and I see my desk photo) but still let the waste paper basket show! ;-) What I can't stand is clutter. If something has a reason for being on my desk, even if it is a bit messy because of it, no problem. I just don't want stuff that has no business being there. I'll have to update my photo actually to show the Secretary and also my drafting table which I've been using more and more lately for pen related stuff, like filling for instance. But also nib work. And so on. Like one of the earliest posters put it, "This topic is always fun". Agreed.

Here's my desk with a furry bum on it and a book with a lovely painting of Charles on the cover.

I'd rather spend my money on pens instead of shoes and handbags.

Love the "furry bum" on the desk! Ours would have the furry bum on the book!sm_cat.gif

Thanks. That's the furry bum's most favorite place in the whole house much to my ire at times.

I suspect it's a very good view. Love the "furry bum".

It's a decent view, not quite two stories because the house is a split level. Not much sun either because it's the north east corner so I suspect the furry bum whose name happens to be Cootie likes my desk because of the view and because he's just plain naughty (he likes to get on top of the kitchen cupboards too).

I'd rather spend my money on pens instead of shoes and handbags.

What elicits my interest is not the feline but the plant. It is a sansevieria? It's just a bit too small for me to really see the leaves. Oh, in case wonder why, I'm a botanist. :happyberet:

It's what I've always called a snake plant. *Runs off to Wikipedia*

Yep, "snake plant" is one unfortunate name for sansevierias; also "Mother-in-Law's Tongue". None particulary nice.

I have to admit being pretty proud of myself being able to ID it from that small of an image. Apparently have not lost my discernment yet!

This is the Cleanest my desktop has been in years...and it already isn't quite this clean anymore, so I thought I would post this picture since it finally isn't too embarassing (even if the blotter paper needs changing etc....)!

I have taken these shots to show off my new vintage banker's desk-lamp. I've always wanted one of these lamps, and today, I got one on the cheap.

The same shot in sepia-tone, for that old-timey look:
