The table where I do my wood engraving is in the foreground. Beyond it is my writing desk with an inspiring view of the back yard. It is a great place to read and write letters. The only trouble is I can also see when the lawn needs mowing.

A lovely setup, it looks like you get some great light. Do you also have a press, or do you use the spoon printing method?

hello sir. I was just browsing through FPNetwork and happened across your pic. of your beautiful desk. What the thing sitting on top? I really like it...it looks like a 'portable' desk. My Daughter has recently become a HUGE fan of Top Gear TV show so I finally know what an alpha romaoe is now. thanks for sharing

At the moment the study is a mess, needs sorting out and improving. I now use this piece of new furniture to work and for writing at. Its great, if rather bare at the moment:

So FPN'ers, what should I put in or on it? Probably will need a light, althought the room is well lit. Need to try and keep it clutter free and child friendly!

Luvin that office chest. The unique way the desktop folds is great. It does of course prevent you from being able to utilize the top when closed, but that'll just force you to be neat.

This desk looks great with the least amount on it, as it's own design and architecture are what is interesting. I'd go with the suggestions already made, in that a nice floor standing lamp is all that is needed. Too bad I can't get one of these here in Singapore.

They're called writing-boxes or writing-slopes (also called lap-desks, despatch boxes, etc). Common from the 1700s up to the early 1900s.

I really envy/hate you for the desk and especially for the view puddle.gif. You go to my list where Dickens still is the number 1, but you're so close as I don't love so much the sea.

I first posted photos of my desk in 2008, which show how old this thread is.

Four years and one divorce later, I still have the desk, if not the house.

This is my work desk. I feel that, given my job, my work desk should be way more interesting. Maybe I need to get a display rack for the handcuffs and taser, or something...

This is my work desk

Wow '80s flashback -- I had that same desk/cubicle. I dropped the corner surface a few inches for my IBM terminal to the mainframe. And raised the side surfaces (I liked to stand a lot) and I had the same shelves with locking cabinets above them.

Yeah, I don't think cubicle design has changed much...well, ever. Nothing but the best here! :)

It's actually not so bad. I have a window and a full spectrum lamp and a lovely plant. What more could a girl want?

Hehe, as far as cubicles go, Steelcase(?) was top notch. Kinda wish I had one upstairs, or in the basement  . Mine was also positioned like yours, with a huge window over the left panel (and a couple nit-wits beyond the right panel).

Here is a pic of my desk which is very untidy...I did take some paperwork and other bits off the middle section. I have also included a pic of our puss, Tommy, aka King Tommy :meow: because he is so adorable. Hope you all don't mind.

On the middle of the desk is my Parker Duofold Burgundy marble set consisting of Int'FP, BP, RB and Pencil. But you can't see it very well.

Which leads me on to cameras...but that is for another topic.
