Actually this is not my desk - it's my craft room where I rubber-stamp stationery, make envelopes and post cards - so maybe this is not the place to post it. But I've been cleaning up and organizing so I just HAD to show somebody! :D

Nice, Judybug! When I get my studio straightened up from moving, I'll post a picture of mine. I'll also post one of my desk area.

Very cozy Chris! :cloud9:

Thank you 'bladerunner'!!!

Give me a space and I'll fill it 'hugga-mugga'!!!

This desk was hiding in our bedroom for five years, but is now my special place to write - and far away from my computer........... so I can't get tempted when I'm trying to concentrate on remembering a word!!!

Close up of pen rack:

post-36916-0-65801900-1308405330.jpg

l-r: Pelikan 400NN tortoise, Burnham flattop in lapis/bronze celluloid, Vacumatic Deb brown stripe, Eversharp Skyline in navy with green/navy stripe cap, Pelikan 400NN green stripe, and in back, a Waterman pencil and Mabie Todd Blackbird. In the nice little pen rest stevlight so kindly made for me, a Waterman BCHR 52. All either flex or semi flex except the Vac.

I like this pen rack in that it has a notch which shows the beautiful barrels the entire length. Neat design by Stevlight.

So glad you like it and it is being used. I love my Waterman BCHR 52--great pens although I got a Waterman 56 and the slightly bigger size is nice for my big hands.

My little workspace. It's in a room we've always called the library, which became my office full time a couple of years ago, just before my boss' boss suggested I should think about working from home full time. The desk itself is a small wooden desk with a roll front over the drawers (where my pens live, among other things) but the desktop is a large sheet of toughened glass which was originally the side panel of a now-decommissioned built-in shower cubicle. The other end of the desktop is supported on top of an old electric fireplace and its surround - as you can see, no expense was entered into! :)

As one might imagine from that little lot, I work in IT. The main work machine has 3 monitors on the left, while my personal laptop and its external screen are on the right. I'm a great believer in multiple large monitors - for what I do, it makes life enormously easier being able to have email open (typing review comments) on one screen, a document under review on another and reference materials including the live system I support on a third. My to-do list mainly lives on my laptop. The mice are wireless Logitech 'darkfield' mice (Performance MX and Anywhere Mouse) and track very nicely on the glass without having to use a mousemat.

The desk lamp is from IKEA (Antifoni, I think); the chair is an old model of a Therapod 5250, bought because I have a chronic back problem and this particular chair allows the adjustment of the lumbar curve at 4 points up the back (the rear of the seat back unzips and there are huge velcro straps in there...). I had a slightly different one at work years ago, which I wanted to buy when I left but the company wouldn't sell it - "we have a waiting list for those!' - not surprising when you consider how awful the standard office chairs were! So instead I went straight to the supplier where they got it, and had this one as an ex-demo model for half the retail price. It's lasted more than 10 years of heavy use so far...

Although you can't see much of it, the window faces south and overlooks our rear garden. The cats love my window-sill - there is frequently a moggy sitting behind the main monitor in summer, toasting from the sun coming in on one side and the warmth from the screen on the other.

The notepad is a small Rhodia webbie, and there's a glass pot in the middle there containing my currently inked pens. Inks live underneath the right hand edge of the desktop, on a little shelf, where you may just be able to make out some Diamine boxes. Most of the rest of the room is lined with bookcases, floor to ceiling - in a previous life I worked in a bookshop, when one of the departments was refitted I got a call from an old colleague offering me first dibs on the solid wood professionally built bookshelves, free of charge. I was on the blower to a van hire company within 30 seconds of putting the phone down!

This pic was taken shortly after installing a new monitor on the work machine and I had taken the opportunity to clean everything thoroughly. Big disadvantage of a glass desk: pawprints look dreadful! :)

Thanks for clarification, I hope I caused no offense.

Here's my writing desk. I've not bothered to clean up, so excuse the paper piles, dust, and so on. I've included a close-up of my daily writer, a Pelikan M215.

By no means a great picture but this is where I usually sit when writing with my pens.
