Beautiful mana!

Really really nicely laid out.

If I may ask, what keyboard/mouse and mousepad combination do you use?

Thanks! :)

The keyboard is Logitech UltraX and the mouse/pen/tablet is Wacom Intuos3 A5.

The keyboard is/was a "cheap" one and one of the best keyboards on the market when it came to price/performance at the time I bought it.

The keys are laptop like (similar to the keys on their diNovo line), very good tactility and not the mushy flat thingies they offer nowadays. You actually feel when you have typed a key (there is a distinct break -> short key travel -> clean stop) instead of just pushing down piece of plastic on a spring. It was a bit of an OEM thingy and might be hard to find. I will buy a couple as spares if I ever come across them again, it is that good.

The tablet is another thing entirely, pricey but a must buy item for anyone who does graphical design, photo editing or anything that requires a person to move the cursor around the screen a lot. The pen is more ergonomic than a mouse, you can do stuff with it that is not even possible with a mouse (the wireless pen is tilt and pressure sensitive). Using it saves loads of time and effort.

Here is my main writing desk. I built it out of Maple for the legs and frame, and Cherry for the top. the drawer has scooped out trays for pens and pencils and the rest of it is open.

I have finally decided to show my horribly messy office... Right now I'm hoping to tear it up and completely rearrange everything as soon as I'm out of my summer class. If you click through to the flickr page, you can see the notes where I have labeled what things are.

And you can see the full size here.

I like the crummy Ikea desk, because of all the cubbies, but I don't have a really good writing surface right now, I actually tend to write at a lap desk or the dining room table! It's a sad state of affairs.

Is that a bong coming out of the lamp?

I need a new desk.

The voice of this guitar of mine, at the awakening of the morning, wants to sing its joy;

I sing to your volcanoes, to your meadows and flowers, that are like mementos of the greatest of my loves;

If I am to die away from you, may they say I am sleeping, and bring me back home.

Oh, that is a beautiful desk. How lovely that you could make exactly what you wanted.

Thanks. I decided I needed a dedicated desk for pen usage. I moved it into my studio when I resurrected my pens from years of neglect, and am having fun rediscovering the joy of using all of them. I used to make custom furniture for a living, until I retired, and it always was a case of the cobblers shoes. I never had time to do one for myself. It is sized just for me and that makes a lot of difference as to comfort during long periods of pen usage. I have been practicing my penmanship, trying to get back in the game. Here is a link to the desk I used to use. It sits in my living room and is not as private, and needs to be open to use it. It is solid cherry and done in a Queen Anne style.

I have an angled computer space just like that. I think that is a great way to utilize a corner space, which might be otherwise difficult to use.

I bought it from IKEA and as you said it is very useful for the corner.

A close up of my desk with two favorite pens, a Parker striped Duofold and a Carter pen. The postcards are from FPNers who are in the postcard exchange group. Almost a vintage look, huh?

Very nice photo!

Kind of excessive for my tastes, but my wife insisted that all my "clutter" be put in drawers and out of sight.

What an ink drawer(s)! I am impressed! Very nice desk too, come to think of it :P

Here's mine, but I intend to change it soon for something with more drawers...

really handsome desk..noticed the pegs, and love the glassed display shelves! Considering the 3rd mission style piece, you might enjoy a larger arts and crafts style lamp.. maybe in the style of Roycroft? With the rich color of the wood, besides glass pieces, Pewabic, Rookwood might be fun..

The one pen holder I was Intensely watching, was a Rookwood..a beauty!
