Here's the desk I occupied for 3-days per week until the end of August:

The pen on top of my small Moleskine diary is a Pelikan M200 Translucent Grey (please no one call it a demo...). Under the large Moleskine notebook is a Clairefontaine Age Bag A4 notebook.

The bamboo fan was hand-made by the wife of a client in Japan.

PS: the pic on my 'pooter is of another person's desktop. I was contributing to a thread very similar to this on another forum but the "rule" was that you had to include the previous post in your reply.

My they look comfy :D

This one is just for you, chupie! The cats are permanent fixtures on the various desks at home. And, as far as paper in filing cabinets? The fireplace in more efficient in sorting out the mess.

Such lovely accoutrements! :D

I need to take a new picture of mine. It now has a much more "lived in" look than my first pics.

I also use my great grandfather's desk for journaling and writing letters . It helps to get away from the clutter of "working" desk. The Moleskine journal is my collection of quotes. The latest: "We do not believe if we do not live and work according to our belief." Heidi Wills

This desk was where I did most of my work while studying at University of Michigan. When I moved from home to go to grad school I didn't dare ask my Mom if it could go with me. But, fortunately, a few years ago she was downsizing and mentioned the desk. I gratefully took it home, as it has always been the one item I would have hated to see my oldest sister take and probably sell.

I've always loved the "lazy suzan" drawer on the right, but it wasn't until I actually got deeper into pens that I realized that the 3 rounded parts were ink wells. I've tried India Ink in the left one, but the red stain on the right is from long before i was born. There is no stain in the middle one, and I suppose it was a good place to keep extra nibs. (?)

  • 2 weeks later...
I'm embarrassed to show this, but this is my office:

I am decidedly jealous of those with clean offices. But mine is what it is...

And Yes, I can get to my chair and (kinda-sorta) find my desk. But I do have people sign a waiver before they enter it. And I try to keep the stacks of things fairly low so that I don't have to worry about one of our cats getting injured if there's a load shift.

I think the only way to clean out the office will be with a Bobcat...

Nice lava lamp.

I'm amazed at everyone's desks, and yes, I zeroed in on that lava lamp right away, too.

I write in bed. I suppose I could take a picture of my bed and post it. In my other business, I share a desk, but I'll go back to the bed to do research on my laptop most of the time.

MYU, is that really your desk???? Love it.

Maybe I should get a desk shaped like a bed.

I write on my living room floor. I have a desk at work, of course, but my personal writing is all done on the floor. Often using a catalog, blotter, desk calendar, or whatever else is handy as a writing surface.

I guess if you all really want a picture of some nice beige carpet.... :roflmho: I have had some very nice writing desks in my time, but I always go back to the living room floor. I ended up getting rid of my last desk. It was never used and just became a "flat surface." We don't keep many flat surfaces we don't need in my home because flat surfaces collect "stuff!"

Maybe I should have posted this about six hours ago, but I waited until I had cleaned my desks. I was very fortunate to be in a dorm room by myself this semester, so I can take full advantage of two desks. One is strictly electronics; the other is for studying, writing and eating (or at least holding the plate whilst I'm surfing the web and eating). Yes, I use all of those books, or at least they will be used by the end of the semester.

I think we have the same school issued bed, mine is next to my desk as well. I also have a single with two desks so I think one will be laptop and one will be ink. currently one is storage and eating and the other is every thing else. my bed is homework other than essays and papers.

Here's my work table in what I hope will remain its usual state (ie usably clean). I'll spare you the other desk with my computer and a mile-high mountain of (bleep), at least until I get it clean/organized. I'm a life-long clutterer, and I'm trying very hard to overcome it. It's pretty difficult, but I'm making headway.
