If you could only have one pen

But if you do get a Scribo I’d love to hear what you think. As I say, I recommend especially the extra-fine 14k flex nib.

The reason why the Scribo is faintly on my radar is its lack of an ink window.  I like being able to see how much ink is in my pen.  One of those things/situations where there’s no point denying or trying to downplay what is an important personal preference when using a fountain pen.

The only pen I have where I’m genuinely in the dark with ink level is my Visconti Homosapiens Bronze Age.  When my first fill of ink ran out too quickly ‘for comfort’, I had to get a measuring container to expel ink after a fill to discover that its capacity was lower than I would have expected.  It seemed to be a thing with the earlier iterations of the pen and which has since been fixed.  After that headache, I’ve been very wary of purchasing pens where I can’t check the ink level or ensure a fill.

I’ve discovered that for me, a pen is a non-starter and quickly ends up in storage if it doesn’t fulfil some fundamental usability features.  I don’t care how wonderful the pen looks or even how well it writes since I’m confident there are great writers that will fulfil the other usability criteria that I am not prepared to overlook.

I confess I'd never heard of the Scribo Feel until reading about it in this thread, so I just did a bit of Googling.  Nice looking pen, but that's a really big step down between barrel and section.  And waaaayyyyy out of my price range.....
