Anyone remember the Berol Fontaine?

This was a disposable fountain pen they sold years and years ago, along with many other disposables like the Marvy somethingorother and the Pilot Varsity. Of these, I think only the Varsity survived.

 

The Fontaine was a slimline that came in many different colors: pink, peach, turquoise, sober blue, green, brown and probably black. Unlike the Varsity, you couldn't see its ink supply, but it seemed to write forever.

 

I just stumbled across a brown one and a pink one. Whadaya know! They both still write! Smooooooth.

I just bought 2 1/2 boxes of them. They write great!

So it’s a super necropost, but I just remembered my teal and red Berol Fontaines and how much I loved that particular shade of teal and how long those pens lasted. I bought them in high school and had them in regular use for about 15 years. I don’t think they are hackable like the Varsity (out of production and hard to find, to boot), so I just wanted to pour one out for my Berol homies that served me well.

I remember them too. Great little pens, and I was so disappointed when they were discontinued. I got them in 4-packs of blue, green, red and black. I may still have a few.
