Good morning! What nib size do you use on your different Montegrappa? I personally use a M nib on my Euro 2002 LE and find it a bit wide, but somebody told me that the F nib was much smaller than the M and would have been scratchy according to my writing style (normal). What do you think? Thanks!

Most of mine are mediums or fines, though my Extra 1930s have a broad and a Binder oblique italic. In any case, I prefer the broad nibs and generally don't use fine nibs. But the Montegrappa fines I have are pretty nice. They're not a lot thinner than the medium nibs but they're smooth and show good line variation. I don't find them scratchy at all.

Ditto. Same impressions of my MG nibs.

  • 3 years later...

Doug,

Dibs on this one when you tire of it.

Sorry Tom, I got it. You'll need to wait another few years for it to do another lap.

BTW - everything Doug said about it was true, if anything he understated.

Now for the OMAS and someday (dare I say it) the Cuervo y Sobrinos.

What's so funny about Peace, Love, and Understanding?

Great pen, I've seen just Ancora before with Mille Miglia theme on.

The Ancora Mille Miglia is truly beautiful.

very nice collection of montegrappas vicary  :clap1:

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time
