Diamine Teal

Sorry I didn't have Blue-Black in any other pen than a really dry fine which makes it seem very light - I am so completely covered in ink after the 2 previous reviews I just couldn't wash out another pen, but I will post a better comparison to Blue Black in a few days.

I still really love this colour - its just that subtle difference from the blacks and blues one normally uses.

On cream paper it takes on a much greener look but still muted and very subtle.

edited bacause I forgot to add the image - I need a holiday!

Good review! Reminds me of PR Blue Suede or Noodlers Legal Lapis.

Thanks for the review Calliej. Teal is a really nice colour and one that I keep on going back to. Though Damson is my ink of the moment, Teal is just a very short way behind.

Your 2nd image shows waterman blue black as a very nice bluish look. I heard from others, if I recall correctly that it turns greenish when it dries for a while, but yours looks blue. Nice.

I tried this in my Parker "45" with a fine italic nib - c1975, Made in England - and found the flow rate inconsistent. This pen has never seen anything but Quink cartridges, first time with a converter. Love the colour of the ink, need to try it in another pen. :hmm1:

My notebook's monitor is not the best for judging colour, but that looks a lot like Noodler's Navy, which I also like. Has anybody compared them side by side?

I would be very wary of judging teal-like colours on the basis of scans alone. I haven't tried Diamine Teal, but I find that this colour range almost invariably looks much bluer on screen than in real life. I've bought three inks in this sort of colour range - PR Blue Suede, Noodlers Squetegue, and Diamine Steel Blue - and they all turned out to be much greener than I had imagined they would be.

Thank you for the lovely review.

I often find that things look great on my computer screen. In real life they are so different. I guess I have been looking at life through a rose colored monitor....

It's good though because it keeps one grounded and used to disappointment. :crybaby:

I definately agree with this

it was certainly my experience of Diamine Teal hence the 'green-grey hue' comment.... for me it was too greeen to be a true teal but still a lovely colour

i have given up trying to find the perfect teal/petrol blue it certainly is not being manufactured and i have yet to mix it

i do like dimaine prussian blue though this is a little too light and a little too blue

i am inclined to think legal lapis or there's a swisher speacial i cant remember the name of would fit the bill but wont pay the shipping from the US for ink (poor student resent paying poastage when could be buying pens and inks etc etc :headsmack: )

Thanks for the review calliej; i gotta get me some Diamine teal ink.

I believe that Diamine has some of the most underrated inks out there. They really seem to perform very well in wide variety of pens. Diamine Coral is especially nice; maybe I will do a review if one hasn't been done. Mark
