When I tried it the first time I couldn't put my fingure on what it reminded me of....then it came to me....like a hard pencil.

A Fine Pen, a fine watch and new shoes to "boot"...ahhhh

I bought some cartridges of gris nuage a couple of months back and used it in two pens. On the XS nib of the Rotring Core it looked silver grey and had a great line. Then I tried it on a Schneider calligraphy pen with 1.1 nib. It was light but had great shading, almost a silvery grey that was delightful. I like the way it shines on the moleskine. I will probably buy a bottle next time. Another grey that looks darker is from the Iroshuziki line, but it is rather expensive.

I just tried it, and it's quite light, but it's soothing. It shows better on off white rather than a bright white paper. I think it'll fit a mood niche, but at first blush, I prefer my darker MB oyster grey for all round usefulness.

Added a couple squirts of MB black, and I like it better. Darker and therefore more legible yet doesn't change the essence of the grey too much. :happyberet:

Yesterday the Visconte Black Divina loaded with Diamene Gray went dry. Without a rinse, filled it with Gris.

The Diamene ink is Black/gray; the Herbin is Gray/Blue. I'm sure that the Diamene residue darkened the Herbin, but the effect remains very swanky. Also find the Diamene to be saturated and dry, while the Herbin has wonderful flow and lubrication. Even with an EF nib, the line is wet and nicely shaded.

Next in the rotation queue is a Gray Este SJ with a 2314M Stub. Can't wait to see the Gris coming out of that.
