No contribution here, but I'm following this thread with great enjoyment. Everyone has such different approaches -- really wonderful and worthy of contemplation. Trevor, what ink is that? The shading of that deep deep blue makes the words seem as though they were somehow "glowing." Great effect that I've never seen before.

I'm curious Trevor ~ how slowly or quickly does your hand move when you write like this?

OK, I'm going to try to upload something from photobucket. (Never done it, may take a bit of experimenting.) (Another disclaimer: this is the first time I've done any calligraphy in literally 5 years, so I've forgotten what some of the Uncial letters look like - so don't be horrified by my heresy!! :ltcapd: (Speedball C-4, CRAPPY copy paper [all I had, note the horrible bleeding on the initial "h" of heart;] a homebrewed ink mix of PR Orange Crush and Noodler's Eternal Green in a failed attempt to make brown.)

ETA: hmm, that came out sideways. Here's another try:

Okay, here is my contribution. I was playing around and came up with this script.

I used a Esterbrook J with a 3668 nib. I used Diamine Woodland Green ink.

FP Ink Orphanage-Is an ink not working with your pens, not the color you're looking for, is never to see the light of day again?!! If this is you, and the ink is in fine condition otherwise, don't dump it down the sink, or throw it into the trash, send it to me (payment can be negotiated), and I will provide it a nice safe home with love, and a decent meal of paper! Please PM me!For Sale: TBA

Here's my version:

I changed the resolution and shrank the image a bit... no other alterations.

For such diverse entries, I think the hat is the only way to go. This thread has been really wonderful to follow.

that one was I guess a slightly slowish normal speed... definitely not a minute taking speed for meetings...

I have been watching the FPN penmanship threads for quite sometime without ever submitting anything so thought with this one I may as well... thanks for the nice reception to my writing... must admit though... I am still not happy with it by a long shot... still missing the fluidity that I would like... one day maybe

I can appreciate the democratic idea with this but it does not capture the notion of what you consider the best which is what you were after initially...

otherwise even my cat could win...

Amber!! .......... where are you??!

I find myself agreeing with TrevorML on this one... although I'm glad it's not my decision!

I think you have to pick. That's the way it started. I really enjoyed all the amazing skill shown. Great thead!
