Noodler's Legal Lapis

When i was at work I used a different coloured ink each week (also loaded into a different pen) to make searching back-entries in my day-book easier. However, on the weeks I used LL I was always reluctant to change the following week as I loved using it.

Now, as a retiree, LL is my ink of choice for daily use. However, I gave away a half bottle to a relative and now find it's very difficult to source in the UK. I guess when the bottle is empty I will have to find an alternative replacement. I'm not hopeful of finding one that I like as much.

Please try Noodler's Prime of the Commons, very similar to Legal Lapis.

Stocked by Pure Pens in South Wales.

It is exclusive to Pendemonium. They have website and they ship world-wide.

I jes loaded my black Pilot 78G and a all-black Lamy (both B nibs) with Noodler's Legal Lapis. I been away for a long time and it's time to "pump-up my pens". Whichever I have left.

I'm surprised LL is still available. Pendamonium still had it as of June of this year. Yes, I know the Pilot is ancient, but they still make the all-black Lamy. OTOH, Pilot being Japanese and having smaller nibs, it comes out more blue than black. The Lamy is wider, so the ink turns more black than blue, when dry.

I bought it to sign legal documents w/ my Lamy. Works great!

BTW, what is "nib creep"? ;)

Love LL despite the nib creep! No matter how much you wipe the nib it seems to ooze out of the slit and cover the nib again in no time!

Agree.

I see it on both the pens I mentioned. Not as obvious on the 'black nib' Lamy, but it's still there.

I have been using Legal Lapis since around 2003. It looks dull on most regular paper. However, it displays a beautiful dark teal on the RIGHT paper, such the Tomoe river paper or the Mohawk superfine.

Legal Lapis is the best bullet-proof ink I own. I like the color because it is different and surprises. Kind of a weird shade, in a good way.

As I sed, I use LL fer legal docs. But, it smears when dry.

On Tomoe River paper (old, cream), it still smears.

The blue smears, but the black is "Bulletproof".

I still wanna ask, is "Legal Blue" the same as LL? ;)

Bonus Points

I was simply amazed at Legal Lapis' performance on the water test. When I was pasting the swatch to my review sheet, I had to remind myself that I'd actually dunked it (the only give away was the wrinkled paper). 100% bulletproof

+6

I actually sprayed a cleaner on it once to demonstrate it's bulletproof qualities.
