Well, I finally feel like I can contribute to this thread. Here's the "collection" so far:

Namiki (Pilot) Vanishing Point - Blue Carbonesque - M nib

Pelikan "Chicago" - M nib

Pelikan M625 - F nib

Bexley Submariner - Binder Red Pearl SE - F nib

Laban Meno (Mento? - the smaller one) - Coral Green - M nib

Laban Meno (Mento? - the smaller one) - Pumpkin Seed - M nib

Still a few on the must have list.

Cheers, Dean

i think the survey needs to be broadened considerably. 10-15, 16-20, 20-30, 30-50, 50-100, 100+

Scary but true. I think i'm in the 30-50 range. "think" - even scarier.

108 votes out of 180 are 15+ Yeah I guess the poll needs to have ranges and not numbers. When I read the topic I started counting and was at 23 with some more to go. Then the page loaded and I realised I could stop counting. Whew! That was a close one!

Now, after 3 months of FP collection :)9 , I've got:

Pelikan M805

Pelikan Piccadilly Circus

Pelikan M600

CS "doctor's pen"

Parker 45

Waterman MAN100

Waterman Carène

Sheaffer Prelude

Cross Townsend

MB 146

Additionally, this order is also ranked by how much I like each of them.

Well, as of now I have none. Just started looking into fountain pens recently. I decided I wanted to try something different to write since I have yet to find a pen that I really like to use. I am currently looking at the Waterman Phileas with the fine point. Who knows when I will actually get around to buying a FP. Dang college student budget.

There is no excuse for reality.

How many pens do you own? that's a bit like asking a lady her age in company, to be honest and seeing as we are all suffering from the same obsession and so are among friends and so we can be honest can we? I don't think that I've ever counted them to tell the truth but there are the 20 or so that I like to write and draw with in my desk drawer and a couple of flight cases in the wardrobe that have a few more in them and then there are all the odds and ends that I've bought at car boot sales over the years and a few more that I'm thinking about getting rid of in a couple of the other drawers, I suppose if I have to guess maybe 200 in all. Does anyone know a good therapist? More to the point does anyone know a good therapist who will take payment in pens?

There really should be a "100+" category, I'd be curious to see how many would have checked it.

Isn't sanity really a one-trick pony, anyway? I mean, all you get is one trick, rational thinking! But when you're good and crazy . . . ooh hoo hoo hoo! . . . the sky's the limit!

I immediatly checked the "+" box.

Then I counted 18 just around the desk... and I have two in my pocket .... and a pencil/pen combo I need to fix the pencil part on .... and then there is that box of repairs I need to do... waiting on parts there ..

And I bought one on eBay this evening ... and there should be a couple on transit ....

Yep - about 6 ...

Sheaffer Snorkel Soveriegn

Sheaffer Snorkel Valiant

Sheaffer Snorkel Clipper

Sheaffer Snorkel Sentinel

Sheaffer Snorkel Crest

Sheaffer Snorkel Autograph

Sheaffer Snorkel Signature

Sheaffer Snorkel Masterpeice

In all the various colors of course:

Aqua (Pastel Blue) (V)

Pastel Green (Y)

Burgundy (before 1956) (N)

Pastel Grey (Q)

Burnt Umber Brown (B)

Burgundy (25)

Fiesta Red (9)

Vermilion (19)

Mandarin Orange (8)

Sage Green (20)

Fern Green (17)

Peacock Blue (2)

Periwinkle Blue (18)

Buckskin Tan (7)

Polished Stainless Steel (Sentinel, Clipper, Sovereign) (15)

I actually have a grid set up. Needless to say , if I collect every option, I blow past 100 just on snorkels. My best catch so far is a Mandarin (or vermillion, I can never remember) Valiant, and a Fiesta Red Clipper. What I really lust for is a Periwinkle Blue unit...

Vintage -

- Sheaffer Balance

- Estie J

Modern

- Hero 329s

On the way

- Rotring Initial

Intended in next few weeks

- Another Estie so I can play with more nibs

- A Binderized Rotring (Italifine)

- Kultur

Bidding on ebay right now

- It's a secret!

When I see the right pen (ie I'm actively and enjoyably searching for one of these) -

- A Sheaffer Snorkel with "big" Sheaffer nib (but not a PFM)

- A 1930's BCHR pen, preferably British, and with not too flexible a nib

- A Conway Stewart, probably BCHR

- Parker Vac or Vac fill Duofold

Someday

- Sailor 1911 or Sapporo F (would be NOW if they piston filled)

- Pelikan M200 (I just bought one for my girlfriend: I may move the pen up or down my own list after it arrives)

- Pelikan M600 or M800, solid colour NOT marbled, quite possibly an xx5

- Stipula ebonite Crescent filler, and maybe another interesting Stipula

- A Vanishing Point

- Pilot Murex

Cheap pens saved to buy when I'm bored -

- Rotring Cores

- Wality 69L piston

- Hero 100

- Hero Ureshi

- Jonathan

The count is presently at 21. For how long it stays here is anybody's guess.

I agree with Kcat, the list needs to be expanded.

I have over 325, mostly vintage.

Remember, one is just one, two is a pair, three and you've got a collection.
