Pilot Tsuki-yo/Moonlight (brief review)

That's really great how Amazon JP includes writing samples (although faint and a little small). Here are some samples from the ones I bought:

I have the Kon-peki and Asa-gao and they are quickly becoming staples in my signature pens. They are wonderful inks and look really great on paper. I have decided to use only Iroshizuku inks in my high end Pilot pens as they seem to behave really well in them. Excellent flow and writing that leaps off the page.

I have to apologize for my primitive ink test page, as I do not want to give a misleading impression. I have found that after a day of "curing", the water resistance is a little stronger. Thus, any ink smudging will be less pronounced than what you see. It is a noticeable advantage over your typical washable inks.

Lamy inks are nice and I like the bottle design (with the integrated wiping paper roll), but they are awful on water resistance. The same smudge test I did for Iroshizuku inks resulted in a nasty blur of ink with Lamy. I think I'm done with that brand. -_-

Wow beautiful review.

What is the Pen and nib?

I like the bottle of this ink

Thanks, the pen used in the review is a Pilot Bamboo with a FA nib from a Custom 742.

It's kind of neat the way Tsuki-yo goes down initially as a deep dark blue but dries to a lighter greenish blue. (I'm using a wet-writing Lamy 2000 with M/B nib.) Anyone else notice this color change? The color when dry is similar to Waterman Blue-Black (except that Tsuki-yo doesn't fade when you whisper the word "sunlight").

Also interesting that, when you soak a Tsuki-yo writing sample, the water-resistant component is blue -- as opposed to, say, Noodler's Navy (which is in the same color family), where the blue washes away and what's left behind is a faint black, or gray.

Beautiful review! I always thought I was a black ink guy till I saw the review for this ink as well as Noodler's Aircorp Blue-Black. I had just placed an order for one bottle of this ink with the ebay seller engeika. Looking forward to try out this new ink :roflmho:
