Various Blues and Purples

Here's a couple of pictures of my various blues and purples (plus two blue/purple mixs). I just got the two new Noodlers 1946 inks, so I wanted to see how they look. The names of the ink (except for the first, which is written in Noodlers Blue) are all written with Waterman purple

I've included three pictures, one with uncorrected color, one with (overcompensated IMO) auto white balance, and one where I tried to manually adjust to show what I perceive to be accurate.

I think the BSB is way more bright then these photos show, perhaps from jpeg compression? The purples came across pretty accurate, except the Iraqi Indigo isn't that pale, but it does still have that chalky look.

Here is a link to a high quality jpeg of my attempt at correct colors.

Auto color balance (way too bright and washed out)

As is, no color balance adjustments

All but the first one look purple on my screen.

The names of the colors are all one color (Waterman Purple), except for the first, Noodlers Blue, which was written in (you guessed it) Noodlers blue.

The actual different inks themselves are in the 2nd and 3rd columns. My F nib Mikado was used for the 2nd column, and my EF nib Densho was used for the 3rd column. That is where the different colors should be. I used two these two pens because I wanted to see if the different nibs made the colors look different between pens.

Very nice to see Baystate Blue and Concord Grape alongside! Thank you for posting this.

The colours all look quite pale to me, although some (Baystate line in particular) shoud be bright and vibrant colours. Maybe it's my horrible monitor ... :headsmack:

I agree, there is a brightness or vibrancy that is missing....also, the Iraqi Indigo, while pale, isn't that pale.
