I am hoping someone will soon have the opportunity to compare this ink to Noodler's Midnight Blue, to see whether it is actually discernibly different :)

I'll send you a sample if you do the comparison.

I appreciate the offer, but I'd rather just buy it than spend the time and energy required for a comparison :roflmho: I am just too swamped with too many things right now.

But perhaps some other kind and generous soul will volunteer B)

Hi Elaine:

It's hard to tell from the scans... would you say this is closer to PR Midnight Blues (kind of green/cyan based) or Black Magic Blue (some purple in it)?

What I'm getting looks very close to PR Midnight Blues...

Sorry, I don't have either PR Blues. I don't see any green or purple in it though.

Ok, I know it's only been a week. I'm still eager, though.

I have been told that the ink should arrive on my doorstep by the end of this coming week. Shipping it out will begin as soon as it does!

Hoo, boy! I can hardly wait. Since I had my order of Manuscript Brown and Tulipe Noire held until the FPN blue ink was ready to ship, now I'll get to see what all the fuss is about with Galileo Manuscript Brown, Dumas Tulipe Noire AND Van Gogh Starry Night Blue inks. What a treat to look forward to. Thanks for the update, Elaine.

Hopefully they will have put it in bottles, otherwise you will have a colorful doorstep. :roflmho:

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

Looks like a great color, and I'm a big fan of Noodler's ink...my order is in.

It is a beautiful colour, an antique blue with great shading characteristics.

However, it may take a while before your orders are processed, as Elaine is abroad currently, far away from our ink stash, for another 5 weeks if I am not mistaken.

I do hope you can wait that long :D.

Any updates on when this color might be back in stock? I've been hunting diligently for a nice blue-black, and this one is at the very top of the wish-list.

Van Gogh Starry Night Blue and Dumas Tulipe Noire are both standard inks, with no special properties other than they are really nice inks to write with and look great. Galileo Manuscript Brown is a wonderful olde world-ish brown with a hint of reddish halo that looks truly wonderful on white but really stands out on ecru, ivory, creme papers and is the only FPN exclusive ink which is also bulletproof. You can find reviews on all three inks in the ink review forum's review index.
