Fantastic color! I can see this ink being used on my Christmas cards this year.

Great colour, I have been looking for a green that I like for a while. I shall be ordering some of this asap.

Hi,

What a lovely color! Congratulations, Ann, and a sincere thank-you for inspiring it.

I truly admire Diamine for seeking ink recommendations from the fountain pen community - and for acting so brilliantly on those recommendations.

I will selfishly admit, though, that I'm still hoping Phil will find a way to replicate the Persian Rose sample I sent him when he was soliciting suggestions.... ;)

Cheers,

Jon

It looks very good :)

On my monitor it seems very close to Caran d'Ache Amazon.

Lamy AL-star - 1.1 (Omas Violet)

Nakaya Celluloid Mottishaw F Flex (PR Arabian Rose)

Omas Bologna - M (Noodler's Golden Brown)

Pelikan M620 Grand Place - Binder XF/XXF Flex (Noodler's Navajo Turquoise)

Stipula 22 - 0.9 (Waterman Florida Blue)

Waterman Patrician - M (Waterman Florida Blue)

Do any US distibutors have this in stock?

I think maybe there's only one US distributor that US retailers order from--and I don't know if it has been ordered yet.

Yes, it's very close to Amazon Green, as well as those inks mentioned above. :)

Best, Ann

I'm really looking forward to this one and actually asked a somewhat tricky multi-brand availability question in Inky Thoughts that involved this ink. Phil of Diamine indicted he thought it would hit our shore in 4-6 weeks but that it is available direct on the Diamine website now. James of Pear Tree and Sam of Pendemonium both seemed to think that was just about right as to when they'd probably have it in stock.

misterh sent me a sample which I put in my green Pilot 78G last week. What a lovely colour! It enlivens making notes at a dull meeting or doing workings.

I will have to order some of this for myself...

Glad you like the Kelly Green :)! I continue to be very pleased with it--Phil got it just right!

I just received a bottle of it today. Lovely color. I also mixed 5 drops of it with two drops of the Sailor Black 'Nano' permanent ink and wrote with the mix on clairfontaine. It mixes to a lovely olive color. I like both. I did try the water testing and the Black Nano stays while the Kelly Green goes, so that, should it get wet at least the information content will remain. I feel like I just got two inks to make me very happy.

Thanks for the hard work of getting this ink to come to fruition. I'll have to reshoot the pics as they were all so blurry, but this pic does at least give some idea of the color mix.

After being run through water and dried a bit.

Ann!

I got a bottle finally. This is a lovely, vibrant green ink!

I love it.

Just ordered a bottle of this ink as part of an order to Diamine. Can't wait to try it. It looks very different from anything I have. Gigi

My own very quick review of Kelly Green.

I bought it really to match a sample of vintage Sheaffer Emerald that I saw online. (See the recent thread on Emerald in "Inky Thoughts".) On arrival, it seemed rather paler than that on-screen sample, but the hue matched pretty well.

In general, I find that Kelly Green is not all that dissimilar to J.Herbin Vert Pré, especially when the latter has been sitting around in a pen for a while. However, the Kelly Green is somewhat darker than Vert Pré, which makes it more usable for everyday writing. It flows very well, and gives quite good shading. (Lamy Safari with 1.1 mm italic nib.)

It perhaps wasn't quite the medium green that I was expecting based on the scans at the beginning of this section, but is not at all a bad ink.

I have a few Diamine inks and enjoy using them but although I like Kelly Green it doesn't like my VP - crusts up the nib overnight and needs wiped off before use. Haven't noted this particualr pen doing this with any other Diamine or other ink. Maybe it has developed a bit of a draught through the VP nib 'door'...

To me this ink seems very similar to Herbin Lierre sauvage, maybe even with a better drying time according to your review, that is excellent by the way..

Stephen, I have had the same experience with Kelly Green AND Diamine Orange in my Decimo VP. These are two of my favorite inks, but I don't use them in my VP anymore. I'm using both the Kelly Green & Orange in Pelikan M200s that don't have that problem with the inks. In fact, the VP is the only pen that I've had this happen with.

Thanks, Orval! Kelly Green is a bit lighter than Lierre Sauvage & a bit less blue--though the latter doesn't at all lean much to the blue side. It (Kelly) has less yellow and is a little darker than Vert Pre.

Interesting - thanks for that info. I will limit Kelly Green to pens other than my VP's

thanks
