Hello RedRob,

most of my pens are old pens, here are some of my older pens.

All my modern pens are in the box and sealed, when I am older, I will use the modern pens, then they are old too.

kind regards

Max

Wow Max... My dream collection!

How long did this take to accumulate, and how many of them do you want to sell? :headsmack:

Hello B,

It takes time, these pens are not all finaly refurbished, but when I have more time I will start the work on this pens.

Some other pict. of my "waiting" pens.

A lot of work....

Regarding pens for sale; sometimes I sell pens at www.penboard.de, seller maxpens. This is a now a team, in the past Tom Westerich sells pens only, but we ( 4 ) decided, because we have nearly the same Standard, to make the penboard for four. The main problem is the exchange rate between US$ and Euro, I buy in Euro and I have to sell in Euro. If I make the pricing in US$ I lost around 36% ? But I am sure that we will have a 1:1 exchange rate in the future.

kind regards

Max

Now that I've managed to reattach my jaw after glimpsing at Max's collection - impressive indeed - I have a few questions for him. Is there a reason why all the pens are black ebonite (or celluloid), why not some colors or some overlays? Which is your favorite writer among those pens? Aren't you concerned that after getting used to those vintage nibs, the modern pens that you will unseal some day will present disappointingly bland writing nibs in comparison? On PT Rick Propas, mentioned that he switched the nib on his Medici for a Pelikan nib which had more character (flex, etc...). My last question to you Max would be: are there any vintage MB nibs that would fit inside a modern 146 derived pen?

Goodguy, it seems we share the same appreciation for the Woolf. A unique pen indeed (but then again, aren't all of them?). Now that you've been unquestionably contaminated by the MB LE bug, I can only wish you many other such pens in the future. If you find a way to get over this bug, please share it with us.

Isn't the Bach FP the reverse of the Hemingway? The brown and coral orange go great together indeed. What do you think of the Bach vs Schiller contest?

Well when I got the Bach Schiller was setting at the same display box, I do not think Schiller is worth the price it commands. The Bach is about half of the price the pen store was selling for the Bach. However I think the same for "Roach Pen" and now I have changed my mind, the more I look at it the more like the Roach. It is on my hit list for this year.

As far as Morgan goes, I hope I will have the money to get it. After Alexander my bank account has nothing but webs in it.

Max pen, HOLY COW Snakes every where!!! A collection I envy.

Hello RedRob,

all these safetys are not for daily writing, only for restoring and the collection. I have a lot of coloured pens, gren, brown, pearl, grey striated, red and green of the 60th. The color black depends on the hardrubber they use in the 20th, there was no other color available, sometimes you find an Orange or an dark red. Bur they are very hard to find. With the beginning to make pens Celluloid it was possible to make penparts not only in black.

My daily writer are a 146 of the 90th and the Alexander Humboldt of the last year. Now i start with a Francois I, but this pen is very heavy ( like the Humboldt ) the total weight are 62 g

You can adapt the nibs of the 144,146 and 149 of the 40th-50th to the pens of the 90th ( with old ink feeder made in hardrubber ) Also the nibs of the 242 or 244 are matching ( with a little work ) to the 144 of the 90th.

Some very nice pen collections. I will post mine tomorrow.

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

The Pompidou must have cost you a small fortune. Just curious, but are you a user or a collector who show cases them? I noticed how a few of your pens still have their nib stickers on them.

Thank you for sharing this MB LE bug with me.

I am sadly a hopless case.I am already eagerly waiting for the next Writers Edition to come out and working on collecting money to order it the moment it will arrive to the market

Wow, the Skeleton 333 is the nicest FP I have ever seen. How much would one of those cost?

I believe they go for around 10 to 20 thousand USD.

Hi Michael, thank you about your comments. Indeed Georges Pompidou is on of my favourite pieces. It was produced only for the French market. I don't use them. I am just collecting them.

Hi, thank you about your comments. In fact, I am a collector and I don't use them. As you may observe I like pens which are made from silver or white gold. I don't like pens made from yellow or pink gold. As far as it concerns Georges Pompidou it cost me 16000 euros from a MB boutique in Paris.

Best regards
