Thanks for your help! I might go to Portobello tomorrow and see if I can find any second hand yard-o-leds!

:roflmho: :roflmho: :roflmho: for second hand ones. I suspect that it's a cold dead hands pen.

I just sold a Grand Viceroy and it probably the last one that I have seen for sale in quite some time.

You never know...

Plus, as a student, especially in london, every bloomin penny counts (so there really is no point in going to Portobello...)

Its' a stunning pen and I'm happy to hear it writes as nice as it looks. It's at the top of my list. :puddle: I assume a polishing cloth once and a while is all you need.

The difference between the almost right word & the right word is really a large matter--it's the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning.

That's true but I have never seen a pen in the wild worth what the price on it was!

Ahh, I caved and bought one (of course, from Pam :D ). It is as stunning as QM2's review has it. I waffled quite a bit because I don't normally like heavy pens, but it was so elegant and I have wanted a sterling pen for some time and - the rationale that put it over into the 'buy' bin - I decided that since I don't usually write with my pens posted, the weight would probably be ok.

I was right. It definitely has some heft to it, but so far at least it hasn't made my hand tired at all. It has a Fine nib and writes smooth and sweet.

This review made me go back and consider how much I enjoy using my Yard-o-led pencil and to go against my usual dislike of metal pens because the silver on the pencil is warm, not cold. This pen is the same way, warm and cozy in the hand, and is an amazing joy to write with.

Many many thanks to QM2 for the review!

Since my lack of patience precludes holiday waiting and since I believe every day is an occasion, I just received a brand new Corinthian today! It is gorgeous, smooth and impressive.

I also added a bottle of Noodler's Old Manhattan to my ink collection. It will be the exclusive ink of the Corinthian. (M nib) What a totally gorgeous combination! :)

A great review, and I noticed that the top of the cap resembles the Attic Base of the Corinthian Order, however the Attic Base has been used in all of the five Roman Orders and very rarely in the Greek Orders.

That would be a really awesome post here. I never can just walk in one case and spend my entire paycheck And in Vienna, are practically surrounded by shops selling paintings and the transfer of at least three of them on my way to work every day - but luckily, retail trade in EU prices as high as what I know I can get elsewhere, which I do not want to even think about buying something from a neighborhood store with the exception of ink (which is sometimes cheaper than the U.S. and the cost / student pens, like the Lamy Safari.

Lovely fountain pen! And many thanks for a fantastic review! I have 2 Yard-o-Led fountain pens, the Grand Viceroy in plain sterling silver and the standard Viceroy Victorian style. They both are well built and enjoyable dependable writers. Obviously the Grand is much heavier than the Standard Viceroy, perhaps a bit too much, but it is all sterling silver and not just an overlay. So I feel I can safely vouchsafe for the reliability of Yard-o-led. The Corinthian is definitely one of the fountain pens on my wish list!
