I am curious as to why no one ever seems to mention Krone along with all the other wonderful Italian pens made today. I own 2 Krones and another on the way and I think they are smooth great writers. I hear alot about all the other brands in these forums but little about Krone. In fact they are not even listed a one of the Modern Italian Manufacturers in the pinned postings above! Any thoughts or comments? I am very curious......

Krone pens are made by Marlen, Italy

I never tried one but heard a lot of good about them.

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

I'd give one a try, Georges. I bought my first in September, and the nib was so smooth, the pen so gorgeous that I just bought another. Two notes, though: (1) the nib puts down a wide line--both my fines write like a solid medium; (2) the piston doesn't hold a large amount of ink. Refill often, but I love refilling, so I'm just fine with the small piston.

Just to foggy the water, apparently Think are made by Marlen as well. At least that's what someone said about my Jimi Hendrix Think pen. By the way, reliable and smooth for a steel nib.

They have the most incredible stubs I've ever floated over paper - even better than Visconti!

BTW, how did you get the stubs? Did you ask the seller to special order them from Krone, or did they happen to be offered on the models you bought?

I contacted Krone about their policy on nib swaps as I was buying a NOS Architecus. The rest is history. Dana Piet is very user friendly. Email her and she'll explain which pens came in which nibs as not all Krone came in all nib sizes.
