Wax seals

Yes ribbon is a very nice idea, I don't have much though, just some brown ribbon I saved off some boxes of chocolates at Christmas. I love that seal sk2yshine, it looks very authentic, what I mean is it looks like it is straight out of history, if you get what I am saying.

The Postoffice (and the letter-sorting-machines) never had a problem with any of my wax sealed envelopes (flexible wax)...

But now I don't seal the envelope, I just seal the letter and put them in an envelope... i had a very nice signet (20 mm) but I

sold it again... now i'm looking for something new...

That is a beautiful seal. Is it a bespoke engraved seal?

I have a seal that was made using a press letter acquired at an estate sale that I then mounted in a champagne cork hollowed with a pocket knife to tightly fit the square steel bar attached to the press letter used in the typeset. It looks crude but works well. I have successfully sent rigid wax seals through the U.S. Mail but will definately be looking into the flexible wax formulations. Where there's a will there's a way eh?

I have recently purchased some Abraxas wax, which is swiss made, I was reliably informed that it goes through the postal system just fine, in the UK. I have tested it on a parcel, but they don't go through the same machines as letters, so I have yet to try on a letter, one would hope that it will go through the system given how much they charge for a stick!

I do hate it when technology ruins our fun!
