Hey polar bear, hope you have fun with your first fountain pen ever!

I'm also new to fountain pens, and I just ordered my second fountain pen ever, after having bought, used, and enjoyed a cheapie (a yellow Lamy Safari) pen for a couple weeks.

I chose a fine nib Namiki Falcon for my number two, and a bottle of Noodler's Zhivago ink.

With the coupon code posted in the Market Watch section of the forums, I got 20% off at Pencity! (FYI, the code is 51009, for orders over $40).

Very excited :)

Alex

You'll love the Falcon! I bought one two months ago and I adore it - you've made a great choice.

PenZombie is sending me an Esterbrook J Transitional, it's on the way.

Pen City is sending me an new Vanishing Point Black Rhodium (I lost mine on Thursday and it must be replaced!)

Mike Masuyama is sending me a cursive italic for the VP

I am going to be standing at the mail box all week.

I have only become interested in fountain pens about 3 months ago, but this is obviously an obsession!

"I am going to be standing at the mail box all week." --mitchjg

:roflmho: mitchjg, what an enviable situation!

I am waiting for only one pen, a Sailor 1911 Mid Size. It has cleared customs and is headed out of the airport soon.

I had originally wanted a Sapporo but I saw the 1911 auction and thought, "Close enough." The Sapporo, along with an ivory white Chalana, does remain on the shopping list I handed to my agent (aka father on business trip to Japan). Let's hope he finds a chance to get to a pen store!

An Omas Paragon in royal blue celluloid arrived one week ago. The pen's appearance has not disappointed me; it's a real beauty, and not too gaudy as I had feared. But I must figure out what to do with the medium nib, because it writes a bit too broad and wet for me.

I didn't see this thread before starting mine....

Anyway a Stipula Vedo, Lamy Safari, Ink, Noodler preppy pen and a moleskine.

Still waiting........very excited.......so impatient!!!

Egads, another Wollongonian! I never thought I'd see the day!

Something big next week, I suspect. I've had enough of middling pens and middling service from department stores. Maybe a Lamy 2000.

Yes, not all of us Wollongonians are knuckle draggers - some of us can write :)

good to have a comrade here.

anyway, the Vedo, Safari, Ink and moleskine have arrived, but now I wait for a Waterman Phileas demonstrator (clear) with a fine nib.
