doh. the waterman expert II that I bought back on 20 is still held at customs.

I think that the Nakimiki Falcon that I ordered around the same time is suffering the same fate in Her Majesties customs too!

My new Nakaya kuro-amenuri cigar with maki-e name shipped today ... after 7 weeks of waiting (as expected). I've nearly crashed the Japan Post web site checking the tracking.

Waiting for my Sheaffer Crest set to be delivered, almost certainly tomorrow since it is (supposed) to be here in town now. It came into Topeka's PO just after 10:30 AM today. Unfortunately this was after the mail person had left the building to deliver in my area, so it should be in tomorrow.

I can't wait, so I guess tonight I will be cleaning up a few pens to put away to make room for this one.

I'm on the lookout for a Levenger True Writer decked out in a Fireball Red Demonstrator suit and a medium hat. The last of the splurge pens (oh ho ho) for now.

This afternoon Parceltheif took £13 off me for the handling charge in 'helping' me to pay just over £20 in VAT for the £113 (incl international carriage from Richard's Pens in the US to me in London) on my new 'Binderized' Namiki Falcon (F).

Don't know why it would be £20 if VAT is supposed to be 15%! They appear to have put VAT on the carriage. The Royal Mail also make a handling charge but I think Parceltheif charging £13 is taking the (bleep).

Anyway, Parceltheif promise (automated service robot-girl) to deliver the pen tomorrow. I've received a new Clairefontaine 90 gm/2 A5 notebook, so I hope to be having a smooooooth writing experience at the office tomorrow!

It won't be here until next week, which is a l-o-n-g time off for this sort of thing, but I'm waiting for a new Aurora 88 with a black body, striped (engraved) chrome cap, and a fine nib. I will then have an Optima, Ottantoto, and Talentum, not to mention assorted other non-Aurora pens, and it will be time to stop. Again. Time to stop. Really this time. To stop.

It's happened to me twice now in a month. I've reached the point that I can only really buy from Europe - the ceiling is a ridiculous £18......

Waiting for an Edison Pearl in black Ebonite, with 18K fine/flex nib. I've been working crazy hours lately, for which I'm fortunately getting paid, and I decided to reward myself and spend some of that windfall in one stroke (and simultaneously support a small business, which is a good thing to do right now). I don't usually plunk down that much on a new pen (or any pen, very often), but I like what Brian's doing and I wanted an Edison. Not to mention I was encouraged by an FPNer who will remain nameless. ;)

My Pearl's been delayed by a week. :( But should be worth the extra wait.

FYI according to a friend who works in HMRC the law requires VAT to be charged on the total cost which includes carriage, so that is perfectly correct.

As for the £13 I have suffered from this myself and you have my sympathy it is infuriating.....

I'm waiting on a pair of Reform 1745's (one for me, one for my lovely wife), and a Hero 266. I'm hoping the ink I ordered from Pear Tree will be here today. :)

Congratulations on your new 88! One of the two pens I am waiting to receive is an Aurora 88. A very kind pen seller rearranged caps and barrels on his two 88 pens so that I could get an affordable all black 88 with gold trim. According to USPS it left Tuscon Tuesday on its journey east.

The other is an inexpensive Parker Frontier ballpoint. My son liked mine so much he wanted his own. I found a red one on eBay, and the USPS tells me it left New York City Wednesday for a trip down the east coast.

Oh, and as for stopping with the Auroras. I really am. I have exactly what I want. The black 88 joins blue and green auroloide Optimas. In fact, this empties my "Want to Buy" list.

I don't know how this happened, but somehow I'm waiting for five Italian pens all of which are being sent from Europe.

From Italy I'm waiting for:

A Giulietta Italian school pen.

A Flavia Italian school pen (NOS).

An Aurora 88 Nikargenta cap - my first Aurora!

From the Netherlands I'm waiting for:

Two "VV" branded user-grade Italians.

Unless I'm forgetting something, those are the only pens I'm waiting for. Am I the only one here who occasionally forgets that a pen is on its way?

Cheers!

I'm waiting for 3 blue Parker Reflex pens. And I'm hoping, hoping, hoping that they write as smoothly as the ones I have now. ::crossing fingers::

I'm going to limit my out-of-europe purchases to one or two a year and plan them carefully. I agree, the £18 is pretty meaningless today - why don't they up it?
