What pen are you waiting for in the mail?

Waiting for an Edison Pearl in black Ebonite, with 18K fine/flex nib. I've been working crazy hours lately, for which I'm fortunately getting paid, and I decided to reward myself and spend some of that windfall in one stroke (and simultaneously support a small business, which is a good thing to do right now). I don't usually plunk down that much on a new pen (or any pen, very often), but I like what Brian's doing and I wanted an Edison. Not to mention I was encouraged by an FPNer who will remain nameless. ;)

From Danny Fudge (estimated repair time about two weeks):

2 Sheaffer Snorkel Sentinels, red and green (red with gold Snorkel tube!)

1 Esterbrook LJ (I think) in Copper with what I recall being a 2668 nib

From Ron Zorn (estimated repair time about six weeks)

1 Sheaffer Snorkel Statesman or Valiant (I forget what the nib is made of), black

1 Sheaffer Snorkel Special, grey

I don't think I'm waiting for any newly bought pens.

ETA: Now I am awaiting two Sheaffer pens with #5 feathertouch nibs. One has a wire band like a Craftsman, but I'm pretty sure a Craftsman would have a #33 nib. I don't know if it's a franken-pen or just some other model.

ETA2: I am also now awaiting an Esterbrook SJ in grey with a 3668 (!!) nib. Being sick has been a damaging day for my wallet!

A burgundy pearl Vacumatic Standard I bought from another board and a Golden Web Vacumatic Jr. I won on eBay. The latter especially. I've been wanting one of those for a long time. Hope it's in as good a shape as I think it is. :puddle:

I think I'm gonna have to clean out the collection and sell some pens to cover these guys!

I am waiting for two new pens from Richard Binder, one of them with a customized nib. The first pen is one I had been coveting for a while; the second (the one with the customized nib) was added to the order on a whim. I think (I hope!) they will arrive tomorrow. I am antsy!

Waiting for a Visconti LE Mazzi Collection The Dragon with a broad nib. I live in Norway and the FP is shipping out of the US, so I'll probably be waiting for this one a long while. Ugh, hate customs :bonk:

Desert Wind,

First off, I want to say: :W2FPN:

Although it's got to be rough waiting for your Visconti Dragon to show up, imagine the pleasure it will provide you over the years. Some things are just plain worth the wait; a Dragon is certainly one of them. Congratulations!

Cheers!

Hi, Garfield.

Before I say anything, please allow me to extend my sincerest :W2FPN: .

Not too long ago, I also ordered a Fine nib assembly for my Pilot Décimo from Richard Binder. It transformed my otherwise lackluster writing experience with the stock nib into that of writing Nirvana! I'm not exaggerating, either. It REALLY writes unbelievably well. You are going to be pleasantly amazed by just how well your new nib performs, believe me! Nice to have you aboard.

Very Best Regards,

Which particular model of Conway_Stewart? They're all such classy pens.

Shown in this post.

Wow! A Churchill !!! That's one of my very favorite fountain pens. I'm very happy for you, Deirdre. I hope it provides you with tremendous writing and visual enjoyment for many years to come.

Cheers!

I am waiting for my third set of two Sheaffer Agio pens with a bottle of Peacock Blue, as well as a full-size 1911 in black with zoom nib, both from eBay. ETA on the 1911 is 3/3/09, according to UPS. Probably get the Sheaffer either tomorrow or Monday.

Hello Clive and thank you for your warm welcome.

I'm hoping I'll have a similar experience with the Namiki fine-nib as you had. It will be my first nib with any kind of flex.

When it arrives and I get a chance to try it out, I'll post details of my views.

Best wishes

A MB 146 and a Visconti Aida.

Unfortunately work sees me in Indonesia for most of the year, and my purchased pens get posted home to Australia. So technically, I am still waiting for my Visconti Mazzi Roma :-( even though it was delivered weeks ago.
