NOS Sheaffer's Balance (II) Model 873, black acrylic (less prone to cracking), 22K gold plated furniture, Fine 14K solid gold nib, via FPN Classifieds (thanks Ben).

Monteverde Intima in volcano red & grey swirl acrylic, black SS F nib, black lacquered furniture. This replaces a new Intima that had the black lacquer finish on the section flake off and corrode. Beautiful pen otherwise, but I don't trust the black finish (time will tell if that changes with the replacement). Great customer service from Clara at Monteverde/Yafa Pens, and Caitlin at Goulet Pens (thank you ladies).

The Sheaffer's Balance (II) Model 873 in black acrylic arrived today in Indonesia. The pen is in good shape. The 14K LIfetime open fine nib has a bit more flex than your typical modern gold nib. A nice bonus.

The replacement Monteverde Intima in Volcano acrylic tracked until it left California - that was more than a week ago. Now it is in the postal black-out zone.

@ Yaakova- that made me laugh.

Another Portal player, perchance? I thought one or two people might recognize the reference. :)

Just ordered this beautiful thing. Love the polarising colour.

It's a Nakaya Decapod Twist in Kuro-tamenuri (essentially black over red urushi layers). The nib is 14kt gold extra broad with a rhodium finish. Looks like the cigar model (no clip) but it might just be on the other side. Or that's what it looks like to me, anyway :)

It's the Kuro-Tamenuri. The poor lighting plus the bad camera doesn't really do the pen justice; the highlights are a lot more striking in person!

Yes, my Neo Standard has the same finish, but its a lot more subdued because it has no sides with exposed edges.

It's lovely, congrats.

How is the extra broad nib? I'm thinking of getting that on my next Nakaya, probably a Dorsal Fin 2 or Piccolo in ishi-me kanshitsu suzu-ishime (stone and silver finish).

I just pulled the trigger on the 2014 LE Pilot Vanishing Point. It's the first pen I have bought in two weeks, so that's an improvement. I did buy a lot of ink last week but still.

Anyway, it's $157 with free shipping (through Amazon Prime) on Amazon. From Pilot. A two-three week wait, but I can certainly handle that to save $50:

I finally pulled the trigger on a Raden vanishing point with an Italifine nib from Richard Binder. With his upcoming retirement, I knew I couldn't wait a minute longer. Soon I'll have one of my grail pens shining like the stars in my hand! This picture will have to tide me over until I have my precioussssss.

Congrats and good call. That design would look interesting out in the open on a sunny day. Be sure to post some pics.

I have not purchased a new/old/vintage or antique pen in several months! I feel I am neglecting my needs to accumulate fountain pens. Please help me!

No pens, yet. But I just received my new wax seal today, and the waxes I ordered are still coming from overseas. I should have silver, shimmery blue, and a deep brown red in time for holiday letters, at the latest.

Sold a lot of stuff (pens as well) on the bay.

Have lot`s of mad money now & working up the nerve to get something a little more pricey.

A Faber-Castell Loom with a broad nib.

I wasn't planning on buying more pens this year, but then I won £25 quid on the lottery and I couldn't resist.

The fact that it has good reviews here (& the option of the broad nib) helped.

Now, what to ink it with?
