Congrats on the CS, they ain't making them any more...

Is it that bad? I'm guessing "going into administration" is UK-speak for declaring bankruptcy ... but that doesn't always mean actual cease of all operations.

All machinery and inventory have been sold at auction.

No mention of brandname and designs.

It is possible some other entrepreneur sees possibilities, but when and with what models?

The Goulets' website is now showing the TWSBI 580 USA as IN STOCK -- WOOT WOOT!!! Just clicked for one in EF, and a TWSBI mechanical pencil (0.5, retractable pipe; had it recommended to me) :D :D :D

(They were out of stock on 1.5mm replacement nib units AND bottled Baystate Blue :( Oh well . . . two out of four isn't bad. And how long have we been waiting for the 580 USAs?)

Sheaffer Craftsman: I am a fan of affordable pens and this was found restored (o so the seller said) at $22. Hope it is a good writer. Bought because of the filling system, which had none prior to this pen. Would have preferred an F nib but maybe i can find it as a separate item?

"...restored the touchdown filling mechanism. The sac and o-ring have been replaced and the filler is in good working condition. The 14K no. 33 nib produces a consistent medium line."

I'm waiting for this one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/MORRISON-FOUNTAIN-PEN-The-Tourist-LADY-039-S-PENDANT-/261597383029?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=%252BxDTuqyN2UMc0QkUu1axx3TZCKc%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

Even if it needs work, the price was right.... I'm such a sucker for these -- the last pen before this one was also a Morrison ringtop, although this one doesn't have an overlay. Of course it's *also* something like 1/6th the price of the silver overlay one, even when including shipping charges....

The ETA is sometime between the middle and end of next week; but since it's only having to travel halfway across PA, I'm actually expecting it a bit sooner.

I'm jumping the gun on this post. The pen isn't in the mail yet, nor is it technically purchased yet, but it's being restored for me and is nearly ready. Penfisher is the restoration artist. :) Can't wait to get my hands on this. I just acquired a Copper a week or two ago and am loving it, but blue is my favorite color and this one looks great. Thanks Penfisher!! Can't wait to get it! (pic is by Penfisher - I hope you don't mind me posting it!)

Now that is _very_ tempting.

I don't know whether to thank you for the information or slap myself for being so foolish as to follow the link.

I see they're offering appointments right up to the end of 2015, so at least there is time to save...

TWSBI 580 in USA colors.

I know it's a Taiwan product, Speedy's kids live in California.

You know what occurred to me, Speedy could likely get a lot of good press by doing a 'flag series'. He could just release them as he felt like it. Say Canada next, then Mexico, EU, UK, Spain etc...

Thanks, Dick. I'll poke around, maybe I need a "special" S nib and can't live another moment without one. Although it sounds like a long wait...

That site can be a real bear to navigate sometimes. If you follow the link to the page, at the top is a "Change Language" option. After you do so you come back to the page and it's... still in German! Silly Germans need to do better at websites.

Here is the site in English for those who had the same issue I did:

Hmm, I've been busy lately. Limiting myself to inexpensive pens, though. Presently inbound: Maroon Kaweco Sport, Pilot Elite "Big Cap" from Speerbob, and a Wing Sung 590.

edit: Forgot about the Jinhao 159 that should be here any day. This will be my second 159.

Sheaffer 300, Parker Insignia and Sheaffer Prelude. As it happens so often, I was waiting for a long time for a Prelude of my taste and reasonable price (for me) to show up on eBay, and when one showed up, I bid and won. Two days later another, slightly better finish Prelude showed up and I won that one for slower price than the first. One arrived in the mail today (basic brushed steel with chrome trim) and the other is on its way (brushed steel with gold trim).

WATERMAN Hemisphere Rollerball Pen

http://www.penheaven.co.uk/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/1160x840/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/W/a/Waterman-Hemisphere-Stainless-Steel-Chrome-Trim-Rollerball-Pen-S0920450_2.jpg

I just got one of these in the black lacquer a week or two ago. LOVE IT. Don't believe what people say about the roller ball refill being junk and skipping and writing scratchy. I love the feel of mine. I know rollerballs get worse as they deplete their ink supply, so maybe it will change behavior close to the end, but its amazing in the beginning. Oh, and in case you want options and didn't know, the Pilot G2 gel ink refills fit this pen perfectly...I went out and bought a set of two in .7 and ended up liking the stock Waterman cartridge much better. But at 8 bucks a pop, the Waterman refills are expensive. I plan to use the Pilot G2 refills in the 1.0 tip once I deplete everything I have currently...which will be a LONG time since I mostly use my FP right now...
