What pen are you waiting for in the mail?

scratchy

How do you go abbout finding a nib for a J? I have one J with a particularly scratchy nib, but the nib is longr than the SJs. What size is it? Did you find a nib assemby with a flex nib? hum!!

Short answer, eBay. I've never owned an Esterbrook, so it's a first. I actually saw some nice penwork on Pinterest of all things, followed the image to the original source, and the person said it was a 9048 flexible fine Esterbrook nib. So I went toodling around on the internet in search of the nib, and found the flexible extra-fine version on eBay instead, the 9128. It's the whole nib assembly. I got that about a week ago, just waiting for the opportunity to snatch up a cheap Estie, and managed to just last night.

All the nibs are interchangeable, I do believe. I suppose I haven't researched it fully. And the nibs starting with 9 are supposed to be smoother than the ones starting with 2, I've read.

I saw many, many nibs on eBay, by the way, for decent prices. Plus you can always do a general search for the nibs online, and I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for!

Short answer, eBay. . .

Thank you. I will start hunting. I have just one J and several common nibs that are eaither hard or soft but none can flex. I have 4 SJs, but did not know there were some soft Esterbrook nibs that you could call flex. I suppose they are if they say they are. Interesting so, maybe this is my new project. Thank you for the information.

Last night I was the only bidder on a green, fine-nibbed Parker 21 :D

I'm waiting for a black Pilot 78G with a fine nib (the last color missing from my collection) and a Pilot Cavalier duo-color black and brown (or black and red, if the vendor pictures were more accurate than the description) also with a fine nib. My next pen will probably be another Pilot that I can find for a great price.

I am getting my first Lamy Studio today, and am so excited to branch out from the Lamy Safari/Al-Star line. It was an Ebay find, and should be waiting for me when I get home, WOOT! :dance3:

Today, I pulled the trigger on a black Pelikan M200 with italic nib. This is after I told myself that I'm on a FP Ban 5 pens ago. :lticaptd: I just love these little pens, they're the perfect size for me. This will be my 4th Pelikan M2XX. Is it ridiculous to keep buying (essentially) the exact same pen?

Ok now I'm really on a FP ban. Really!!!

Not exactly waiting for a pen, but a box of cartridges en route from Japan for my Sailor 21 Pocket Pen that I haven't been able to use for 30 years, except for a brief stint as an ED. It's my oldest pen, but it'll be like getting it new all over again.
