Two pens - potentially lost in the mail between the UK and the US

A Pilot Prera mailed over 4 weeks ago and a lovely broad nibbed mint P51 mailed on Jan 20. :crybaby: I hold out very little hope. I don't know why the Royal Mail and/or US Customs doesn't like me.

I feel your pain. But hold on, it may easily take longer. The longest it took to me (from US to EU) was 7 weeks.

Cheers,

Just a pen part. Picked up a .6 'Binder' stub off a member here for a VP at a great price. Should have it tomorrow.

Chris,

I'd really appreciate hearing what you have to say about the 0.6mm Binderized stub nib once you've taken possession of it (and test-driven it, of course).

Thanks!

No pen at all, and it's making me sad. I walk by my mailbox at work, where I get packages delivered, and there's nothing to hope for.

I'm starting to realize I have a problem.

The US Customs seem to be prime culprits....I sent 2 pens from Spain to Arizona over a month ago and the tracking says they have been sitting in USC since Jan 9th :(

And I'm told I cannot initiate an insurance claim until they have been there for 45 days :o

Today I got terrible news.

The M800: this evening the seller called me to say that the shipping firm cannot find my address. What? 100+ items received by mail and those guys are not able to find my address?? Never heard of google maps?

The M420: this morning the german seller wrote me that the pen came back because of an error (a generic error, made by the seller... cheasy!)

So, bad bad bad day.

Diplomat,

MAN that's some incredibly disheartening news. I'm sorry to hear you've been put through the wringer by that "genius" seller.

It defies common sense how incredibly stupid (and lazy) some people can be, or how they simply don't care ... about anything EXCEPT $$$.

I hope you get your M800 & M420 shortly with an apology and sans shipping costs. Wouldn't THAT be something?!??

Very Best Regards,

-Clive

I am awaiting a jade Duofold Senior and 1 or 2 "51"s (depending on ebay results tomorrow).

And I'm just in the process of buying a nearly-new Conway Stewart 58 in Dartmoor...yum :)

Ralph,

Okay. I'll bite. Here's the question that's begging for an answer: Have you recently ordered a fountain pen to enable your work mailbox to actually RECEIVE the darned thing?!?? :hmm1:

If not, here are several suggestions for your consideration. Happily, I will stand guard by said mailbox until one (or more) of the following pens shows up, thus decreasing the stress placed upon you, subsequently reducing and/or eliminating your aforementioned problem . . .

Cheers! :roflmho:

Thanks Clive, today I spent on the phone like 30 minutes with those mail courier company. They told me that will give a second try this afternoon. They have my number, I am slightly worried that they didn't call me yet. I feel the worse is coming. In a couple of hours I'll be home and see...

Ciao,

Woa! it was not there. I had to call again. This time I was maaad. They passed my call directly to the driver... I told him exactley where I was (plus a couple of other things...).

He finally came one hour after with the package.

Peew! One less. And a beauty: the Pel M800 has "W.Germany" on the cap band... and the nib... I'll have to tell about the nib on the Pelikan forum...

Cheers,

Just ordered a Pilot Fermo (twist mechanism) in Dark Blue, Fine nib, from Jet Pens. Also, ordered a Pilot VP Medium nib, Binderized. Want to put the medium nib in the new pen.

Can't wait!

A VARUNA VISHAL eye dropper from Allwritenow/Steve Braun, ordered with an italic nib. Looking forward to trying an ED for the first time.

I'm still waiting for my Sheaffer Masterpiece Triumph Imperial Touchdown and I've just ordered an S. T. Dupont Montparnasse in Tortoiseshell. I'm waiting patiently just like Dennis.

So I expect to see them at the next Seattle Pen Club meeting and I'll bring what I am awaiting: an OS Wahl Gold Seal in green and bronze. Our fellow club member John M is to blame for putting the bug in my ear for this one since the Bellingham meeting!
