Bayard Le Special 8, from 1930, with 18CT number 45 nib, near mint.

Beautiful mottled brown.

Yayyyyy! I saw that pen! It's lovely! I know you'll adore it! :bunny01:

I don't have to wait for it anymore.

It just arrived :)

Bayard Niveau Clair

That's absolutely beautiful. I find it curious, though, as my Niveauclair is black and looks markedly different. Still, yours is a Niveauclair as evidenced by an old advertisement for the pen showing that unique section. Is there a barrel imprint? How does it write? Is it restored? Details, please!!! Congratulations!

I am preparing a review. ;) Yours is probably the 880 (is there a marking somewhere?). The Black NiveauClair are mainly from the 40's/50's. Mine is the 474, 1930's, more or less.

And I got the Secial 8 at a very good price!!! - I suppose they were asleep when I placed my bid.I am quitte happy, yes (I can hardly wait for it to arrive. New Zealand is so far away. )

I cannot wait to read the review. I don't see a number on mine, only Niveauclair, but I agree, mine is probably 50s and yours is earlier by a couple of decades. Thank you for the clarification on model numbers. Yours is just beautiful. Yes, you got the Special 8 for a real deal/steal. Good for you! The waiting game begins!

An Ivory colored Pilot Prera in Fine nib. It sold for $17.03 on Amazon with free shipping. Paid $10.93 after applying my Discover Rewards points. My wife doesn't know but for almost $11 I could justify the purchase. Never played with a Pilot FP before so it should be fun. Only thing is it won't get to me until sometime in first or second week in July as it is shipped from Japan. :(

A Montblanc 3-42G is wending it's way across the Pond to the megalopolis of the Valley; a Pelikan 140 from New England. :)

Noodler's Konrad Acrylic in Appalachian Pearl.

Then I *have* to stop getting any more for a while, since we're packing up to move to another state in a few weeks.

Noodler's Konrad ebonite, one of the limited edition ones. I'm excited because I've never had an ebonite or flex pen before, and after that I think I will have covered all the bases with my collection, at some point (piston, c/c, vac filler, all sorts of nib sizes, plastic, metal, Vanishing Point, etc). The postal service says it should get here by Monday, so it'll be a loooonngggg weekend... :-P

Diplomat A series - Marrakech.

The brown colour matches my hair and I had a nice holiday in Marrakech once.

The reviews on this site helped my choose this one - so thanks everyone.

I'm currently waiting for a Pilot VP to come back from a nibmeister (I'm hoping its actually in the mail by now). I also just won an eBay auction for a Lamy 2000 that should be here on Monday.

I year ago, I would never have thought that I'd ever spend $100 on a pen. Now I have two in the mail...I need to stop the madness before it's too late!

Waiting for a Pilot Metro (purple/leopard) and I juuuuust won an eBay bid on an Estie A101. Sac looks to be intact, too. I hope $12 was a good deal on that.

Well, I don't know exactly what the make is, I just liked the look of it on the Bay of E, and the price was right, and no one outbid me on the minimum bid. It's black with gold trim, the nib is a Durium 6, and the logo on the clip is an "A" in a circle. If anyone knows what make that is, I'd appreciate the info. Otherwise, I'm just going to be happy with a lovely and elegant looking pen. :)

Slow day at work and what happens..?! Just a quick look at Richard Binder's website....

Now I'm waiting for an Belmont with custom grind.... super... I hate this hobby....

What a strange world we live in, where people communicate by text more than ever before, yet the art of proper handwriting is seen as a thing from the past.

It's a good job the import duties and shipping costs deter me from shopping whilst browsing there

The strong Euro lessens the pain somewhat. The Belmont with steel nib is 160, grind 40, so 200 for the pen plus 35 shipping.

Orderamount is just under the threshold, so no import duties, just 13,- euros USPS handing fee and dutch VAT (21%).

So, total get-the-pen-from-richard-to-me costs are around 220,- euros... could be worse....
