Into a life a little disappointment may creep. Just received a Parker 51 fine with matching pencil set I had been excitedly waiting for. Looked great until I tried to open it to look at the converter. It was stuck so tight I have not been able to get it open. Clearly this may take some mechanical force, with lots of rubber band protection, to remove. Wish me luck.

My JoWo 18K 1.1 (tipped) stub/italic arrived from John Mottishaw.

At the moment it's installed into a Franklin-Christoph mod. # 03.

Being un-branded, this nib can match my Edison too.

The Lamy Logo manages to be both extremely light yet solid feeling in the hand. It'll be a real workhorse for you.

Hello all on FPN,

It has been some months since I have posted on here due to some interruptions in my daily routine but I have resumed my love affair with the fountain pen. To add to my small collection I have chosen this beauty, now I just need a proper ink to set it off. Any suggestions? (no reds please)

What's in the mail? A mystery! B) [Wow -- I almost never get to use that particular smiley....]

Well, actually it's some sort of prototype that FPN member Presto Tenebroso is sending. I was one of the random names drawn of people who responded to his survey awhile back about pens with flexing nibs. Had completely forgotten about it, since it was a few months ago, until I got the email from him. So, not sure exactly *what* it will be like. I just like the idea that I won something.

I think the last time I won anything this cool was back when my husband and I were first dating, and I won $78.50 US in the New York State Lottery where the jackpot went to $40 million (at the time, the largest ever in the US, IIRC).

Before that, it was back when I was in college, and a local record store had a sweepstakes. Didn't get the grand prize (a new stereo) -- BUT I was one of the 10 runners up. Tickets to a soccer game at the Jersey Meadowlands, where my brother and I got to see the legend Pelé get his 299th and 300th career goals (he was playing for the NY Cosmos, the (then) "home" team. And a soccer ball autographed by the entire team (since given away). But the *best* part was 10 record albums from the Warner-Electra-Atlantic label. And I could pick the albums I wanted, because they sent me a catalog. They did pretty well by me, because I got a bunch of stuff from their backlist. I don't remember what all they were anymore, but I probably still have them (one of them might have been the old "Super Sessions" album where a bunch a session rock and blues musicians got together to record an album). I might also have gotten something (probably Led Zeppelin) for my brother.
