What pen are you waiting for in the mail?

I am waiting for the MB Solitaire Royal Legrand to arrive. I bought it because I an enamored with the MOP star and this seemed a reasonable way to get one in my greedy little hands. It will likely replace my Solitaire Silver Fibre Guilloche in the daily rotation. Or not... I might keep both. :)

Placed my first ever FP order this morning.

I ordered two Preppies (1 Medium, 1 Fine) and a Metropolitan. If I don't destroy them completely, I'll be on my way!

My first vintage pen. Reform 1745 (NOS). Of course I always question a sticker that says "Original". But the price was right.

My first MAJOR pen, the oh-so-(in)famous Visconti Homo Sapiens steel oversize. Can't wait!

Great pen. It's on the list assuming my recent slush fund is not completely consumed chasing MB WEs.

Hello fellow Memphian! Is that pen from Judd's in Naperville, IL? I've bought from him before and he did right by me.

That's the first good photograph of this pen that I've seen. Now you made me want to own one. And I don't even particularly care for demonstrators ; )

Well I feel like a total DERP. -_-

Got tired of waiting for my green marble Jinhao X450 to show up from China and finally told the company I bought it from that it was "lost" in the mail and to please send another one. Which they promptly did. Guess what showed up in the mail the NEXT day? The ORIGINAL PEN! I apologized to them for the mix up and offered to send the other pen back when it arrives. But instead they are going to let me have it for $5. So I guess I'll have TWO green marble Jinhao X450s. DOH! :yikes:

That's happened to me several times. I've got the duplicates to show for it. It seems as if the mailman waits until I complain, and then the package is delivered... I sometimes keep the duplicate, sometimes pass it on to friends It's a good thing they are relatively speaking inexpensive.

I will be waiting for my new Yard-O-Led Viceroy Grand Barley with a fine nib to come back.

Having spoken to the retailer this morning, I will be sending the pen back today for an exchange section/feed/nib. The pen dries out and won't restart 5 minutes after filling with Yard-O-Led Blue Black, which is a fairly wet ink (it's made by Diamine and is likely identical to Diamine Blue Black R2). I've tried flushing the pen with water and refilling, but the problem recurred. The feed is obviously misaligned with the nib and looking through the breather hole with a loupe reveals that the channel in the feed misses the slit in the nib by some distance. Understandably, the retailer doesn't want me to pull the nib and feed from the section and attempt to realign it myself, so it's going back for some attention.

I'm sure Yard-O-Led and the retailer can sort this out. Apart from the drying problem, the pen is everything I hoped for and balances beautifully in my hand despite the weight of the silver section and barrel.

I may also order the Lamy Accent fountain pen and four-in-one pen that I've got my eye on for everyday carry. My much loved Parker 25 fountain pens and roller ball have been with me for so long that I'd be devastated to lose them (I did lose my Parker 25 pencil as an undergraduate many years ago and stupidly never replaced it). Both the Parker fountain pens have medium nibs, with one so worn from ten years of intensive use at school and university that it's effectively broad, but my needs now are for fine or extra fine nibs.

If I order the Lamy pens, two writing implements will give me a fountain pen, pencil and all the ball pen and roller ball options I need. My ultimate intention with the four-in-one would be to swap out the Lamy ball pen refills for a blue D1 'space pen' type refill and red and black D1 gel refills. I make little use of ball pens and really don't like them, but sometimes there is no alternative.

Dr. Codfish, those are exquisite pens! Just beautiful! Congratulations!

A couple:

This: A Pelikan 1935 Jade Limited Edition with an OB nib. Used but clean enough that it is hard to tell if it had been inked or not, so the broker tells me.

And one of these: A Pelikan 1935 Lapis Limited Edition, OBB nib. Also second hand, and again possibly uninked (not sold as such) but mentioned to indicate that there is no indication that it had been used.

Interesting. At first I thought you had posted the same pic twice. Could be brothers....

Nice pens, also...
