A pink Jinhao.

Tes rires retroussés comme à son bord la rose,

Effacent mon dépit de ta métamorphose;

Tu t'éveilles, alors le rêve est oublié.

A Jinhao 159 for notes and everyday (bleep) writing. I love the large nib and size, it is my second 159 and with 10 bucks you ca't go wrong since it is as smooth as a Faber Castel e motion.

I just got the Sailor 1911 maroun , M nib, REALO, which has the little window in it, piston filler, A great pen, but as I received it today I am also going to send it back tomorrow. It scratches badly, so its going back to Japan.

Despite the gold, it is harder than a diamond on any paper I use. Albeit I have only used Sailor Grenade ink on it. I am sure Sailor black is smoother, but still the pen is a wreck and I am wondering if breaking it in will help, so here I am writing on the net instead of actually writing on paper.

Oh does anyone know if sailor sells M and not H-M nibs, which my nib says it is.?

Thanks

You'll have to go for a specialty nib if you want softness out of a Sailor nib. Check out http://www.nibs.com/SailorSpecialtyNibs.htm for info (no affiliation)

They're generally regarded as smooth nibs, but the standard nibs are very stiff. Sorry to hear it wasn't love at first write. Check out the regional subforum for Japanese pens for more info about Sailor.

My Kaweco nib has made it to the Atlanta sorting facility. It should be ready for pickup at the PO tomorrow (they are not delivering to my apartment office anymore because the office's package room was flooded when a pipe burst during the last winter storm)

I'm eager to get it fitted into my Ratnamson over the weekend. Tinkering is my prize for all the crazy projects I have to do in the next few days.

Just ordered a Visconti Blue Rembrandt with medium nib. I already have a fine nib that I will be able to swap in and save the medium if I get interested in bolder strokes. Love my purple Eco Rollerball and the magnetic cap so much that I had to get a fountain pen too.

Favorite pen/ink pairings: Edison Brockton w/EF 14K gold nib and Noodler's 54th Massachusetts; Visconti Pinanfarina w/EF chromium conical nib and Noodler's El Lawrence; Sheaffer Legacy w/18k extra fine inlaid nib and Noodler's Black; Sheaffer PFM III fine w/14k inlaid nib and Noodler's Black; Lamy 2000 EF with Noodler's 54th Massachusetts; Franklin Christoph 65 Stablis w/steel Masuyama fine cursive italic and DeAtramentis Document Blue; Pilot Decimo w/18k fine nib and Pilot Blue Black; Franklin Christoph 45 w/steel Masuyama fine cursive italic and Noodler's Zhivago; Edison Brockton EF and Noodler's El Lawrence; TWSBI ECO EF with Noodler's Bad Green Gator.

I am waiting to send three pens to Francis....a black MB134 with long ink window, a black MB 234 and half and a Lady Soennecken 111 in the brown stripes. All have OB nibs. the MB134 nib will have to take a trip to Master Minuskin for retipping.....I cannot wait to see these back in action. All three nibs look as if they have some nice FLEX :D

My grail pen at last - a Lamy 2000 SS. I gave up on trying to get it cheaper and just bit the bullet and ordered it. Now I just hope it's everything I wish for and more... :-)
