A PSP Soquel (from Peyton Street Pens), smooth mottled green ebonite, with an Eversharp fine flex nib. With optional green striping. (It looks a lot better than it might sound, too.)

Well. It just arrived at the door. I'll be back later...

I've been debating for months between a Pilot Justus 95 or a Delta Fusion 82. I finally made my choice today and purchased the Pilot. It should arrive in 2 weeks.

I am waiting for a Pelikano 1st generation from Penboard .de

It was the commercials that sold me.

These commercials were made in 1959 for the 1960 intro. Of interest to me are the pen-as-missile spots since my US Army unit was ready with atomic warhead Honest Johns for the defence of what-ever we were defending then. These missiles and our battery's array of self-propelled vehicles were a topic of conversation and visibility in West Germany. Particularly when we were on manuevers through small street villages and would manage to knock the corners off a building or two.

Inkstainedruth wrote (somewhere above) that she is awaiting a pen that had belonged to a collector named Morris Sherman and the sales listing showed his business card.

The only connection I could find on Google (about Sherman) were all the Ebay listings, but I guess that is supposed to mean something to someone.

This is the pen I'm getting:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/RESTORED-ARNOLD-PEN-CO-RARE-DOUBLE-JEWEL-CAPPED-ENDS-FOUNTAIN-PEN-NEW-OLD-STOCK-/141105841223

The business card shows an address at the Wallach Jewelery Exchange on the Bowery. Some quick google: This makes sense since this was the original Diamond District of NYC before it moved uptown to 47th Street (the Wallachs remain in the jewelery business, but in the suburbs) The address on Bowery is still a jewelry store and the address is also that of the National Jewelery Exchange. That Morris Sherman would be there makes sense because of the fit of pens with jewelry stores (at least back in the day). Maybe someone is familiar with Morris Sherman and can shed some light. I tried to run down Nat Sherman of cigar fame since pens and cigars were a sales combo. No luck before the Sherman Cigar Store on Broadway and then the move to 5th Avenue. The info on the card has a 5 digit number and a mailing code. I think this makes it late 40's early 50's. My first business number was EL 5 5800. EL was for "Eldorado". how's that for the name of an area of businesses and high end stores! 383 Madison at 46th … the phone answered by a female operator who grandly told you where you had called by saying " This is (pause) BBDO". Thus was the real Mad Men.

Wow. Thanks for the information. I had honestly thought it might be something of a snow job by the seller (a lot of the guy's listings make him come across like a 3rd rate pawnbroker -- old coins, blingy jewelry and overpriced pens).

Today's "entry" is a very nice looking Morrison BCHR pen with a #7 fine nib that has (supposedly) been re-sac'd. Won't come *quite* in time for Christmas, but since I was the only bidder I don't mind. And free shipping! Waffled over it for a few days on the watch list, then contacted the seller to ask about what shape the nib was in. Then yesterday evening I hit the plunger for the minimum. Got up just in time this AM to watch the last 4 minutes of the auction.

My husband will probably kill me, because I just picked up a Snorkel Statesman last week while in a very large antiques mall in Ohio about an hour or so from Pittsburgh. (I amazed even myself for how little I spent in November at the Ohio Pen Show....)

OK! Who could resist this? A German Pelikan Culture to sit beside my French Waterman Kultur. What entreprising company will issue the Culchur for the school market?

I've got a Pilot Cocoon <F> coming in the mail, but according to the shipping info, since it's coming from overseas, it's not estimated to come in till close to the end of January. :yikes:

Although I haven't ordered it yet, or even found the right one at the right price, I am looking for a Visconti Bronze Homo Sapiens with a medium or broad nib, or maybe even a 25 Anniversary edition. I'm sure that I'll find one when the time is right. There's something about it being made of lava that I know I'll like... and the Dreamtouch nib too.

*keeps looking*

After reading and watching many reviews, I ordered 2 Jinhao 159's. I did recieve 4 Jinhao X-450's and 3 Noodlers Ahab pens before Christmas. I like the way the X-450's write so I figured I would give the 159's a shot. With the price of these pens it's not a huge investment.
