I am now waiting for my third batch of Indian pens from Mesu - a Gama, some Guiders, some Olivers. Experience says it will take about three weeks. So after the holidays, but still my holiday extravaganza.

Hey all. Been gone for a few years and decided to come back to see if anythig has changed. I have been using my FP's on a daily basis but haven't purchased anything new. I don't purchace expensive pens because of limited funds. But! I enjoy using a FP.

Well, I have a nephew who is attending the University of Minnesota. He is studying Bio-Medical Engineering and is a Junior now. We do lots of outdoor sports together since his family is 200 miles away and I'm 15 minutes from him. I like to keep an eye on him.

With Christmas comming I thought he could use FP and a bottle of ink. So.... I just ordered the following items:

3- Noodlers Ahabs

3- Jinharo X450's

2- bottles of Noodlers black

1- bottle of Noodlers red/black

I plan on giving him 1 of each of the pens as well as a bottle of black and the bottle of red/black.

I hope he enjoys the experience of useing a FP as much as I do. Who knows maybe he will and start a nice collection of pens and ink.

This topic will never be outdated. Mmmm.

Last Thursday I just bought my first Kaweco sport with a MED nib at the NY Public Library. In the mail upon my return to California this week, my Inoxcrom mini was waiting. Not sure what the nib sizes are on those?

I bought my first bottle of Noodler's ink: Borealis Black this past Saturday, before this had only used J. Herbin and 1 other type of ink.

I am currently awaiting eagerly in the mail: 1 Inoxcrom Kukuxumusu fountain pen and boli pen set, and 1 Kaweco sport exclusive music print fountain pen with a fine nib.

I can't wait to play with the two Kaweco's to compare the medium and fine nibs. Currently my Kaweco medium nib is filled with my Noodler's BB :)

I lied to myself (and a couple of you guys too) as I promised I wouldn't buy another pen this year.

However, mhphoto posted pics of his "early" Christmas gift on the Don't Just Tell Us About The Pen You're Using, *show* Us! thread and after reading every review you have all so kindly posted (and with an additional thoughtful and very persuasive FPN message from him) I became carried away with the Christmas spirit and pushed the BUY NOW button on a Visconti Homo Sapiens large bronze with EF nib.

*sighs heavily*

This is by faaaar the most expensive pen purchase I have ever made and and both nervous and excited in almost equal measures.

The Pilot Bamboo and Tortoiseshell M800 will have to wait for my Lotto numbers to come up.

Well I'm hoping for a sumgai. I snagged an Omas Paragon in Saft celluloid ca. 1992 on eBay. The seller mentioned, and the pix confirmed, that it had ink in the cap and needed to be cleaned. If that's all that's wrong with it, I will be one happy buyer. And if not... The seller has a 14-day return policy.

Well here's the update. The pen is mechanically sound, with a smooth fine Omas nib. The section was an inky mess and the barrel was filled with the remnants of what must have been Bay State Blue ink.

A lot of flushing cleared the barrel. Simichrome restored the luster of the celluloid section. The only issue now is some brassing on the clip. (The trim doesn't have any issues.)

At the price I paid, I am a happy camper.

I decided that my cats could by a DaniTrio Cum Laude as a Christmas present for me but I couldn't decide between the blue/grey and the brown which Operdoc has on eBay so I am now waiting for a one of each.

I am now a very happy camper with everything crossed for them to arrive before Christmas.

I'm actually waiting for two pens at this point. One of them I've only been waiting since last week. The other however has a bit of a story.

The pen that I ordered last week was a TWSBI Vac700 - F - With flex added by Pendleton Brown -- Super excited about this pen.

The pen that has a bit of a story, is the Aurora Tantalum Finess - Black - Italic Nib. I ordered this pen back on November 2nd though Flax in San Francisco.

- Then when they got it, it didn't have the italic nib.

- Then Aurora sent them the steel Italic nib.

- Then they finally got the right gold italic nib.

However I took it home, and it was skipping.

- So I took it back to Flax and the wonderful Stephanie worked on it for a bit. She noted that the section grip was rotating and it shouldn't be. Then after some work asked if I could come back the next day.

- The next day, she had decided that they should just get a new section from Aurora, but the US distributor didn't have any more available.

So now I'm waiting for the part to arrive, for a non-custom pen it has been a very long wait. I shudder at what those who order a custom Nakaya must go through during their wait.

Explanation: I wanted a Lamy box for the mint, second-hand Lamy 2000 I bought, but it turns out it's cheaper to buy a "company-branded gift" Safari with box, than an empty box, so I ended up with an unexpected "surprise" Safari (no idea what nib it has).

Yikes... I think I might be going nuts! LOL
