I sold four Esterbrooks from my collection, and with the resulting PayPal chits, I bought a blue Bexley Corona from Richard Binder. Arrives Monday!

Inkstainedruth wrote (somewhere above) that she is awaiting a pen that had belonged to a collector named Morris Sherman and the sales listing showed his business card.

The only connection I could find on Google (about Sherman) were all the Ebay listings, but I guess that is supposed to mean something to someone.

This is the pen I'm getting:

The business card shows an address at the Wallach Jewelery Exchange on the Bowery. Some quick google: This makes sense since this was the original Diamond District of NYC before it moved uptown to 47th Street (the Wallachs remain in the jewelery business, but in the suburbs) The address on Bowery is still a jewelry store and the address is also that of the National Jewelery Exchange. That Morris Sherman would be there makes sense because of the fit of pens with jewelry stores (at least back in the day). Maybe someone is familiar with Morris Sherman and can shed some light. I tried to run down Nat Sherman of cigar fame since pens and cigars were a sales combo. No luck before the Sherman Cigar Store on Broadway and then the move to 5th Avenue. The info on the card has a 5 digit number and a mailing code. I think this makes it late 40's early 50's. My first business number was EL 5 5800. EL was for "Eldorado". how's that for the name of an area of businesses and high end stores! 383 Madison at 46th … the phone answered by a female operator who grandly told you where you had called by saying " This is (pause) BBDO". Thus was the real Mad Men.

A cream yellow Pelikan M200 originally sold by the Galleria Kaufhof to compliment my citroenpers.

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

Pilot Custom 823 amber, M ;-)

Well played sir! I have that exactly on me today. One of my favorites for sure.

As to what I'm waiting for, sadly, nothing. I just can't afford anything right now. If I could, it would be a Conway Stewart Churchill or a Sailor 1911 Large.

I'm waiting for the Pilot Kakuno, a Japanese children's pen with a smiley face on the nib. :) I think the mailman tried to deliver it today, but I have to pick it up tomorrow. That, or it's my 2014 Hobonichi Techo. I order too many things from Japan.

Pilot 78G, broad nib, red body and cap, gold trim

I received a red in medium and a green in broad last week, I think you'll be very pleased with the pen. The medium nib version has gotten almost no use, whereas I've been using the broad daily.

A bit of a splurge last week, but I am now awaiting delivery of my first Montblanc 146, can't wait!

I wasn't waiting for anything but today is my birthday and, out of the blue, the ever wonderful and so much better half surprised me with a Skyline in a deep blue modern stripe. It has a beautifully smooth fine nib. I'm transfixed by it, my first vintage pen. Is it true love? You bet!

I am waiting for an Onoto Magna Classic Blue and Gold Chased with a fine nib and a Conway Stewart White Whirl Wellington with an Italic fine nib. :D Arrival is expected between Christmas and New Year's.
