What pen are you waiting for in the mail?

In today's mail, I just received a Pilot g78 complete with 6 cartridges from Hong Kong for $11.00 including shipping. Who coulld resist. I am waiting for a Rappen to arrive from Bulgaria and for Pentiques' Aaron to send me back a brown-oxidized Pelikan 100 with the old logo and a leaky black and green-striated 140 all shiny and fixed the way he does.

I am also waiting for a black metal Koh-i-noor 3.2 lead holder with a supply of Koh-i-noor 3.2 leads in dark blue from Czech Art Supply in Prague. I've visited the pencil center of Bohemia in the Czech Republic with the Koh-i-noor factory in Cesky Budvar and Stabilo in Cesky Krumloff. But I'm sure pencils don't count.

A BCHR waterman 52 with a flex nib and another waterman I bought from a fellow FPNer. Also a lot of three Esterbrooks to clean up. One has a 3668 (or is it 3886? I get the numbers mixed up) sunburst. Very excited. And now I have to stop buying.

Forgive me, but reading through this thread seems akin to reading the phone book.

I must be missing something...

But by all means - carry on!

I've gone crazy lately. Good thing most are inexpensive and for me to restore. I think I have eight total. A Sailor 1911 Magellan, two Esterbrooks, a few Sheafers including a snorkel, a couple of Parkers and a Waterman. Most are vintage pens that should keep me busy in repairs for quite a while. I think I should take a purchase break for a bit now.

Still on my vintage spree! I have alot on the way since I restore and resell, but a few that I'm especially looking forward to are:

Waterman Lady Patricia Ink Vue

Waterman 515 in Green

Waterman 72 1/2 this one is cool since its like the later 52 1/2 but a eyedropper version which are bigger than the early 12's/ 14's

Swan Gold filled Self Filler

I always get alot of pens, but there are always some that get me excited!

Hi all

As of today I am awaiting delivery of three pens to add to my collection

A Parker 51 Vacumatic in US Burgundy. Awaiting Delivery from America

A Parker 61 Flighter. Awaiting Delivery from within the UK

A Pelikan P1. Awaiting Delivery from Australia.

I wonder which will arrive first

Rant on!

Also awaiting a number of items Pen and None Pen related from America and China which are taking for ever to be delivered. Normally deliveries from China to the UK are very quick but not at the moment with most taking 4 weeks instead of the usual 1. Parcels from America are also getting almost as slow as well. I suspect UK customs will have a hand in this as I have never had so many claims for import duties than I have just lately. They never used to both if it was under £100 but now I am getting charged on items as low as £20. I don't object to paying duty but when they add 20% to a £20 item and then add £8 handling fee it can make the items purchased quite expensive.

Nowadays I only buy from outside the UK if I cannot buy from within. No longer can buying from a None EEC country be classed as a money saving exercise that it could be only a year or so ago.

Sorry to Rant on a bit.

Rant off

Paul

+1 Paul.

I have had murders with HMRC over the years. I have evaded nothing but the costs have gone mad.

From a recent box from the USA these are the charges list :

IMPORT DUTY £

EXCISE DUTY £

VALUE ADDED TAX £

OTHER £

ROYAL MAIL HANDLING FEE £

Rant over........

Thanks for reminding me Paul I almost forgot about the two pens coming from India. They are from fountain pen revolution but they can take some serious time to get to the US if there are any customs issues. I usually buy in the US only to prevent any extraneous costs that might occur.

I just got my two Acrylic Olivers from FPN member Mesu, they look even better than their picture in the Classifieds! Also included was a piston filler Wallity.

And, my Acrylic Guider from Fountainpen Revolution is in, with two Airmail pens as well...
