Since I asked my wife for a few more expensive pens for Christmas I just ordered myself a Nemosine Singularity and a X450 from xfountainpens...I also ordered a very cheap Hero 529 from ebay. My intention is to get a few cheaper pens so I can fool around with tweaking the nibs, maybe try my hand at smoothing, etc.

It's just possible I hate you a little bit. In a nice way.

I seem to have dropped an ungodly ( to me) amount of money on my first real vintage pen - an Esterbrook. On the basis of zero knowledge. So I await delivery with an exciting mixture of expectation and fear. Kinda like awaiting a first born...

Cheers, Al

An excellent place to start with a first vintage Al. Like most here, I've had several and keep one, almost for 'old time's sake'. You also get the huge advantage of easily interchangable nibs - and suprisingly mostly easily available too.....

An Italix Parson's Essential, in the beautiful blue, with a M nib. Hope to use Pelikan's Edelstein Sapphire in it.

From the classifieds, I'm waiting on a TWSBI Diamond 530.

From JetPens, I have a Pilot Penmanship, a Pilot Plumix, and a Sailor HighAce Neo - a couple of pens I can loan out or throw in a bag without worrying about.

I'm waiting for a Persimmon Swirl Edison Collier.

Good choice. I got one this summer and now I use it every day. A beautiful, wonderful pen.

I like it so well that I'm considering either another color or else an Edison Beaumont.

Just dropped an order in for an Edison Collier in Persimmon Swirl with a 1.5mm stub (with an obligatory bottle of Iroshizuku Fuyu-Gaki), plus a new black coated medium nib unit for my Stealth Vanishing Point. I'll prob get that 1.5 ground down to 1.3.

I'm waiting for my (probably last) grail pen...

a mid1930's Sheaffer standard sized vac filler in Ebonized Pearl finish.

Supposedly it shipped last Thursday from North Dakota.

I just bought the same size pen this AM in gray pearl just in case I needed some parts.

Thanks to Columbus Day, I have to wait another day for it. Grrrrrr...
