What pen are you waiting for in the mail?

Is it just me, or does it seem to take way too long for USPS and /or U.S. Customs to clear and deliver pens coming from the UK and Europe to the U.S?

Royal Mail and Deutche Post tracking web sites show the pens arriving at JFK within a few days of mailing. Then the trail stops, goes cold, and the long wait begins.

Waiting on a Pelikan 400 nn in tortoise with a fine nib. This is the pen I've most desired since I developed an interest in fountain pens a couple of years ago and it took me quite awhile of hunting around and bidding on ebay before I was finally able to get one at a price I felt was both reasonable and in my budget. Very excited about it.

A 18K gold-filled Cross Townsend with a BB nib from the 1990's when it was still made in the USA. Also, a new Sheaffer Legacy medium size nib unit to fit onto my Sheaffer Sterling Silver Legacy pen. Finally, two Jinhao 159 pens. Oh, the anticipation is killing me....

I am waiting for a Waterman 54 in BCHR. I bought it for the nib: it's an Ideal BB stub with full flex. With a keyhole breather. I am so excited about it that my heartrate has actually gone up since I started writing this post.

I have a TWSBI Vac 700 fine nib coming in for everyday lecture note taking and writing. Should be arriving tomorrow or the day after. Bit boring but its a solid daily writer that can hopefully stand up to some minor abuse.

Visconti Opera Elements Water from IguanaSell. Going on two weeks now - it is coming in from Europe, which is something I didn't know when I ordered it.

I bid €7,50 on a parker 45 to add it to my workhorse collection. This was on a local fleamarket site. The seller emailed me to tell me he wanted €10 for it, postage included. I replied that was fine by me if he would sell another pen he had for sale to me for €25, $33. That other pen was advertised as "old parker with gold nib". It's a vacumatic that to me seemed to be in excellent optical condition, green striated and the nib seemed perfect. I'm very excited by what I hope is a sumgai, although I tell myself that the pen may well be a useless bit of celluloid, or break in the mail..

Parker Sonnet from a nib exchange. But because of the UK's postal service is so crummy it's been in the post for 5 days and sill no sine.
