Just arrived today - restored Esterbrook J (green) with 9550 extra fine posting nib. Still trying to figure out what is going to be the best ink/paper combo with it. Have Pelikan 4001 Blue Black in it right now.

Got two today from Goulet --

blue Vanishing Point (my first) that I'm really excited about and a blue Noodler's Konrad that I wondered why the heck did I get this after I inked it up and gave it a whirl (zhivago).

Here's one for you. I have the most wonderful loving dog in the world (Golden Retriever...Tonka) and he never chews on anything I leave around the house....never. One day I left my new Pelikan M600 (red with black stripes and a beautiful writer) on the coffee table. I walk into the living room and there he was...chewing on the top end of the fountain pen. I love the guy so much I just smiled and said "leave it." I called those Pelikan repair people, sent of bunch of photos of my dog, and they said "send it in." No kidding...they fixed it and it's on the way right now. Didn't ask me for a penny. I love Pelikans and their service was incredible. In fact, I all the things I've purchased (tools and all kinds of stuff) their customer service is as good as it gets....at least for me.

I am waiting on a vintage mentmore 46 I just picked up off Ebay. From the description it needs a little work, which I am looking forward to. I like writing with fountain pens, but I really like messing with fountain pens.

A dozen Pilot Metropolitan pens (Medium) in various colors. My favorite 'give-away' pens...people seem to prefer the brass barrel, cigar-shape Metro pens over a plastic Lamy Safari. And they are cheaper as well so that's a bonus.

I always get a kick out of these "no affiliation" notations when it's blatantly obvious the poster has absolutely nothing to do with the brand, company, etc. beyond being a customer. It must be a feel-good/feel-important thing. So I'll note up front that nothing I write here on this forum is influenced by any financial-gain motivation.

A Scheaffer school pen, which I hope will write but for what I paid, I really can't whine if it doesn't. These were my gateway to fountain pens.

Mind, I've been hanging out under that gateway for... quite some time now!

I'm waiting for my Dad's restored Parker 51, my Mum's restored Parker Slimfold and my own Kaweco Sport Classic Bordeaux.

I had never heard of Kaweco before joining FPN a few months ago. Too bad I didn't know jetpens also has Kaweco squeeze fillers. That will be for my next order. ( ??????? )

The Parkers will be my only gold nibs.

The Sport will be my knock about jeans pen.

Needed a durable everydayer, so I've taken the plunge on my first Lamy 2000. Hope it's the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
