What pen are you waiting for in the mail?

I always like to carry (I sometimes say "wear") a pen that goes with whatever shirt, jacket, or sometimes pants that I'm wearing. One particular problem color for me has been the color red. Until recently, I've only had two pens in the red range. One is a Chicago-era Conklin Glider. I really like the look of these pens, but the performance leaves something to be desired. The other was a Yafa-era Conklin Symetrik in red and taupe. I also like the the look of this pen, but it's performance has also been spotty at best. The latter pen literally fell apart in my hands yesterday (the second Conklin Symetrik to do so. Am I that hard on pens?) So I went to the computer and ordered up a ruby Edison Hudson from Richard's pens.

I chose to have the nib ground to a left foot oblique stub. I've never had an oblique nib before, but it just seems like it would suit the way I hold a pen. I hope I'm right. Wish me luck!

I just ordered a Noodlers Cobalt Creaper Std. Flex along with a bottle of Noodlers Blue electric eel highlighting ink on Saturday morning from ISELLPENS.com & I got it this morning! I thought Goulet was fast. Anyway I love the ink & the pen. Plus I also got another pad of (starting to be my favorite) Banditapple paper. Writer's heaven

My Lamy 2000, which I sent off for repair just yesterday.

Bah, a 2-3 month turnaround time? Why does it take so long to send something to Germany, have it looked over and tinkered with, and then shipped back to the Philippines? It was my favourite pen, too :(

My Visconti Opera was shipped on saturday and should be here soon; I hope it will write like a dream. When I was informed that this waiting is almost over, I immediately bought a Visconti Rembrandt with a B nib customized by Pendleton Brown from a FPN member who lives in Canada. He just shipped it. In addition, I am waiting for a TWSBI 580, also with a B nib customized by Pendleton Brown. This one has already made it to Miami. That makes three. I have the plan to get to the point where I am waiting for NOTHING. Grrr...

My Ahab (King Phillip Purple Demonstrator) arrived today and is laying down a beautifully shading line of Black Swans in Australian Roses.

My Tasche arrived, and I'm sending it back. It's a medium nib and I can't write in my diary without feeling cramped. :(

I did, however, give into the peer pressure of "why don't you have a Pilot" and just ordered a 78G. After this, I'm staying away from pen-purchasing for a while.

Except Preppys. Can't have too many Preppys :P

Noodler's Nib Creaper. I plan on owning all the Noodler flex pens someday!

I'm saving up for a semiflex pen that'll take cartridges and converters as well...I guess that leaves the Namiki Falcon as my only choice?

So we know why you got a Pilot but why the Tasche, and especially for a diary, which deserves nothing less than a Mont Blanc. And I think I read somewhere that you DO have a MB.

I also think that why people acquire certain fountain pens is as interesting as why they use fountain pens in the first place.

Waiting for a Kaweco Sport in black, with fine nib. Sent the first one back as it leaked ink horribly all over the nib and feed. As the cap was removed, there was a suction-like action and ink was drawn onto the nib and feed. As it was my first one, I wasn't really sure if this was normal behavior. Posted this thread on FPN and found out that it is not normal, so contacted the seller who was happy to make an exchange. So the new one should be in tomorrow, and he sent me an email just today saying that he saw the problem in the one I sent back. So hopefully, all's well that ends well. It is really just an inexpensive pen to carry on my outdoor forays, so I don't lose or damage one of my good pens.

Uggghhh. The Koweco Sport came today and works okay so far.

But meantime I had to sit home with the painters, so I read all about (and then ordered, of course) the TWSBI mini demonstrator with a 1.1 stub. Amazon says it has shipped already so there's no turning back now.

I had to order it. Ya know, to find out what all the buzz is about with these pens. It's not a sickness, it's research...
