Well, I finally did it.. I ordered myself a Noodler's Ahab together with a bottle North African Violet ink on Saturday. I found a UK stockist and placed the order before I could give myself time to 'think' about it. I think at a total cost of £30 (inc. the price of ink and P&P) it's not a bad price :) I have another FP due but it's an unnamed Chinese hooded pen. Literally dirt cheap at around £0.34 with free P&P. They are good cheap pens to have in the pocket and not worry if they get lost or otherwise mislaid (I have two already). Next I'm thinking of getting a Pelikan 120 or 150.... It may cost a bit more though :(

Montegrappa Miya in Turquoise Blue in Extra Fine nib.

I'm tracking down the package and it's to be delivered tomorrow noon.

I'm looking forward to it.

I'm already looking for another pen though, either Mont Blanc 146 M or Montegrappa historia.

Anyother suggestions to compliment my Miya?

Brown Tortise Pelikan 400 pen pencil set from Germany, a matching ballpoint from another German source, and I finally got a M 1000 at a decent price so it should be on the plane tomorrow.

Regards

Jeff

Waiting for a TWSBI mini classic with a stub 1.1 nib. Thought I would have gotten it Friday. Sure has made for a long weekend. Can't wait for Monday's mail. I'm hoping the 1.1 will be the motivation I need to improve my handwriting skills. I would appreciate any tips. Thanks.

  • 2 weeks later...

Oh, just grails.

  • near mint Omas MoMA with hi-tec (rhodium) trim and monotone B nib

  • mint brown tortoise Pelikan 400NN
US$240 was a bit steep for this. But, the colours were above and beyond many vintage 400NNs that I have seen - strong, iridescent, pink, red and auburn highlights on light green.

Icing on the cake: a CI from Pendemonium.

NBD.

Just ordered an Italix Parsons Essential with a fine italic nib. I'm looking forward to another fine italic- I like my No Nonsense, but the aesthetic doesn't really appeal to me.

My first Nakaya. Long piccolo with flex added by John Mot and then stubbed by Pendleton Brown. Should be a change at least.

I'm waiting for a Sailor 1911 Standard purchased new on eBay and an Esterbrook J purchased here in the classifieds. The Esterbrook is my first used, let alone vintage pen purchase so I'm excited.
